Re: People smoking marijuana outside the park entrance...

Once, a wise philosopher once said... "To see the future, you must look into the past"

Going off some distinct smells often found in the area, Dark Forest these days is more like

Re: PBB, Bank Hol Mon

10pm ride close! If only other theme parks in the UK were open so late. Whats going on with the old swamp buggies site? It's just a shame the late opening was a one off really, the park really did look brilliant at dark in the nineties. There is so much potential for nights (or at least there was p...

Re: Chessington Incident - 7.05.2012

Unfortunately Chessington is one of the parks I haven't yet visited - is the bridge similar to Ripsaws, or is it more 'rickety' so to speak?

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach General Discussion

Blackpool remains the only park I have ever been to where ride staff have told me to '~~~~ Off' - after I crashed on Grand Prix. :) Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using Tapatalk Quite a regular occurance - I'm often told to politely "Jump Off" if there's two cars in the station ;) Sayin...

Re: Mirabilandia 2012: "Divertical" Intamin Water Ride

What a nifty lift idea, I really like that. It is quite neat - I think Holiday World was the first park to receive it with their Pilgrim's Plunge; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwHnpQxRrXQ. The coaster section looks more impressive that the water ride section - i'm guessing there is no/minimal spl...

Re: Your Favourite Park Area

I think the quality of an area usually comes down to the atmosphere and theming, so it was a tough call between Dark Forest and Katanga Canyon for me - though I voted for the latter. Both soundtracks are great, and both Thirteen and the Congo River Rapids are in my 'top five' at the park. Katanga ed...

Re: Fun Spot, Orlando- GCI woodie, further new rides and park expansion

With this proposal being merely 10ft taller than the Big Dipper (which has next to no banking), this does look like Fun Spot are getting quite a bang for their buck. I've never been abroad before, but when I think of Florida, this place never comes to mind - hopefully this GCI can change that percep...

Re: Valhalla Frontage Refurbishment

Apparently bits of the façade is coming off in granules , effectively being sandblasted by the waterfall when they first tested it for a long duration. This would probably explain why the waterfall is a bit on/off at the moment. I seem to be in the small brigade that thinks the new skull is better f...

Surely the next major thing to happen would be the Black Hole 'arch' being demolished?  :)

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach 2013: Wallace & Gromit dark ride

As much as I loved the in-depth theming (and slightly dodgy animatonics) of Gold Mine, the much awaited new dark ride is getting me interested already - partially with me being quite a fan of the original Wallace and Gromit movies. I had a crack at designing a re-imagined dark ride on the site, alth...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm and General Discussion

A somewhat different piece of PR for The Swarm has arisen....  :?

Could just be me, but in PR terms the barrel is slowly being scraped.

Re: Explorers Pizza and Pasta Buffet

Went for my first visit since the days of Pizza Hut/KFC, and must say  the meal was rather enjoyable. Whilst there was a moderate queue (which always seems to be the case) and service did seem a bit rushed and impersonal at times, the food on offer is of a rather high standard. And it helps whe...

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

If Thorpe Park got a woodie (either GCI or Gravity Group) near the Dome, it would certainly encourage my first visit since 1997.

...but then again, what are the chances .

UK's Best Water Ride?

1) Valhalla - My favourite by a mile - whilst getting too wet is a an issue, the recent renovation has improved some key areas, and the new frontage looks fab. 2) Congo River Rapids - An all over favourite which varies with each ride - however I find your fellow riders can reflect on how good your e...

As great as it looks (and it does look rather fun being interactive an' all that) - the capacity and thoroughput looks rather dire. Twelve riders per cycle? Really?  :?

Re: blackpool or disneyland paris?

Even as a dedicated Pleasure Beach addict, I must say that i'd take Disneyland Paris everytime.  ;) ;)

It doesn't have the seaside charm of Blackpool, but it does have the charm that only Disney's imagineers could create.

Re: MINI MEET: Camelot - 15th April 2012

Ride count wasn't too dissimilar, so will leave it out  :P Lowlights - Camelot being more dire than I remember it being so. - Lack of investment anywhere - most I noticed was four new signs! - Whirlwind shut all day - Ridiculous options/pricing for catering - Knightmare station faff - Lack of a...

Re: Camelot: General Discussion

Looking from where that picture was taken it looks like the back of the park. I haven't been since Knightmare opened but I guess there got room on the park to add a few funfair rides. As I heard the Rack gone and the coaster that use to be indoors before it got burned down. Which coaster burnt down...
