Re: At what age can you not handle thrill rides anymore?

I'm 46 & will ride anything they build. Even queued for 3 hours for The Smiler last year. Found that things like Samurai at Thorpe Park make me want to puke so tend to stick to coasters. Hands up all the way!

Re: Alton Towers - Offers, Vouchers and Discounts

The Sun token collect starts next Saturday. Get snipping those tokens people. One claim per household but if you have friends and family who are willing, get them sent to their address. I get 4 pairs a year, bit embarrassing buying 4 Suns a day but worth the shame in the end!

Re: Alton Towers Praise

I've been visiting since 1981, 2 & 1/2 hour Log Flume & Corkscrew queues! I was 12 years old on my first visit and every single visit since has been as magical. The feeling of escapism and a release from the everyday world is refreshing and exciting. Long live the magic.

Nice report. Good queue times for school trip season. Smiler is amazing, queued for 3 hours in June and worth every second. Going again in August and Scarefest. Can't wait.

Re: The first thing you do when entering The Towers

As soon as I park the car I feel like a teenager again! I first visited in 1981 when I was 13 and Alton Towers is still providing me with many happy memories on every visit. No two days are the same. It truly is a magical place. I love taking my kids now and will hopefully still be going when I'm a ...

Re: Twirling Toadstool, never again.

Hooray, I'm not the only one to freeze with fear on these rides. My daughter laughs her head off while I cling on and swear under my breath. Been to Blackpool Pleasure Beach today and had a similar panic attack on the Flying Machine. Give me a 200ft rollercoaster any day!

Re: Quick Questions 2011

I know park/ride opening is 10 tomorrow but does anyone know if they keep you herded in Towers Street til then or can you wander round and join a queue before 10? Planning to get there about 9.30 and don't fancy being caged in for 1/2 hour.

Come On Eileen - Dexys Midnight Runners. I'm very old and have been going for many years! I remember when the Log Flume opened and we queued for 2 1/2 hours.

Re: Towers selling fastrack at ride entrances

Hate Fast track passes. Would not use them even if I was a lottery winner. My AT AP expires in April and seriously considering a Pleasure Beach Pass for next year. No pushing in, huge coaster, woodies and rides next to each other. Will miss the gardens though.

Re: Say Something Negative About Nemesis

I went on Bank Holiday Monday and got bad whiplash during ERT. Couldn't move my head and had to go home at 10.30. Still love it though and will be back to ride it when I can move properly again!
