heir new delayed coaster is apparently being build by Vekoma ( has a unique element to it, apparently) but will be family orientated.

Very interesting! Where did you find this information out?

Re: Drayton Manor- Out of Ideas?

A launch coaster could be a possible investment for the future, but the most we're looking at is a Vekoma booster bike system. Drayton Manor is a very modest park, and they certainly don't have the budget for a Mack launched coaster. If recent installations are anything to go by, then people could b...

Re: Drayton Manor- Out of Ideas?

Is Drayton Manor running out of ideas? I understand they have a new ride this year in Thomas Land but before that we have not had a big Thrill Ride in ages... No, and there's a very good reason for that. As much as some of us thrillseekers dislike the idea, Drayton have cornered the family market a...

Re: Are Alton Towers running out of world first's?

I hope so! Alton Towers have too many gimmicky rides with intricate working systems. There's always a possible risk of high downtime.

Re: What's the next coaster going to be?

AT most certainly won't be getting a wingrider. Thorpe Park hold exclusivity with The Swarm, so it'd be pointless. There's also the height factor to take into account.

My money is on a cross-Valley B&M hyper. Just think, it'd be the first in the UK - a favourite park trend.

Re: Which of the 1994 coasters will be removed first?

Shockwave won't be going anywhere for years and years. Why? Because the ride was only approved by the local council due to a miscalculation on the planning documents; Drayton would never be allowed to build a coaster of those proportions again. Shockwave is still the only stand up coaster in the wor...

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

^I was also there on that day :) The queue system is strange. You have to ask a member of staff if you want to queue for the front, apparently. Furious Baco is the only coaster I could see with a dedicated front row system. Absolutely beautiful park! Fine landscaping, gorgeous themeing and staff tha...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

They should have just demolished those toilets and built some proper supports that are incorporated into a new toilet block.  It might have cost more, but the toilets at the Towers are pretty dated and old anyway.  They all need refurbing. It's not as simple as that. It would cost an abso...

Re: The Sanctuary

I'll provide a little insight in to what happens in The Sanctuary. The maze is very extreme in places, so much so that two women ran out screaming yesterday, and another had to be evacuated after having a bad panic attack. Just a warning! For those that would rather not know about the whole experien...

Re: Drayton Manor 2013

Drayton are installing yet another new attraction in Thomasland this year. I was rather hoping for a new thrill ride of some sort, but Drayton are clearly going the family route. Is it due to open in March? I couldn't tell you. Drayton just told me that there would be a new attraction for Thomaslan...

Re: February Half Term 2013

I went yesterday and it wasn't too busy. The Runaway Mine Train and Sonic saw the longest queues (45 minutes for the RMT), but the other rides were walk on.

Re: Food/Drink At The Towers

The best:
The baked potato hut in Dark Forest.
Fresh Fish and Chips
Refresh at Ripsaw

The worst:
Explorers Pizza and Pasta - Slimy pasta in a fatty sauce. Not exactly appetising.

Woodcutters looks really nice. I shall give it a go this year.

Definitely Festival Park. There was something wonderful about it this area back in the day. The sights, the rides, Corkie's lift hill noise...magical!

Not at all! The ride has been running brilliantly this year, and people know what to expect from it now, so appreciate Th13teen for what it is.

Re: Gardaland Theme Park Italy

The park is beautiful and landscaped well, but with the exception of Raptor, Gardaland doesn't rate on the ride front. It was extremely hot when I went too (37.C to be precise) and there were lizards running around the park. Quite an experience to say the least  :)

End of Season Fireworks Extravaganza - PTR 11/11/12 Part 1 We had originally planned to do the Frights ‘n Thrills Halloween event, however, it had been cancelled due to an “on-going dispute with local residents over noise and traffic issues”. Thankfully the fireworks Extravaganza was still on…if onl...

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

Stealth and Saw... He didn't mean physically vertical (although Stealth is), He just meant that they have 2 rides with some emphasis on vertical angle. I actually meant the Alton have exclusivity over the dive model with Oblivion. I understood the rest Well they do really, as Oblivion is their most...
