Re: A Very Political 14 Year Old

I certainly hope YouTube don't remove the video. To deploy a famous quote:

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

They tried to market Nemesis: Sub Terra as a worlds first at one point, even though there is nothing overly worlds first about it Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk 2 Apart from the whole "Top loading drop tower" concept.. :) I think that aspect of the ride gets overlooked. It's a really co...

Re: Quick Questions 2012

What changes exactly have been made to Sub-Terra since it opened? I'm confused! There have been three significant versions of the ride. The first version, how the ride opened at the start of the season, had no video before the first lifts, and the main ride sequence was a lot more confusing as to w...

Re: Mostly affordable ideas for Sub-Terra

I wouldn't have thought there would be room in the current building. You would also need the two lifts to turn together on one massive turntable, otherwise the lifts would appear to swap sides after they have turned.

Re: Mostly affordable ideas for Sub-Terra

This isn't an even remotely affordable or realistic idea for Sub-Terra, but this thread seemed the most appropriate to post it in. After hearing people discussing how unrealistic the lifts were, I was thinking the other day on park for ways to make the descent lifts seem more realistic and two ideas...

Re: Duel - General Discussion

When I went last week the blasters worked all the way right up until the end. I believe the blasters are programmed to run for a set amount of time, so if you have to slow down more than usual because of spacing issues or whatever, the time set will run out before the end of the ride.

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I certainly hope so, although I fear that there will be some kind of gimmicky 'worlds first' in order to give the marketing something to hook on to, my only hope is that it's not anything that affects the main ride experience.

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I'm not arguing that it's not happened or won't happen, it's clear from the plans we're getting a worlds first inversion (well, inversion combination at least). What I'm saying is that I don't think there will be posters and adverts boasting about that fact. I think we're unlikely to see people wand...

Re: A Very Political 14 Year Old

Like so many things, it comes down to religion. More specifically, people who follow a religion but don't have the decency to allow others to have views different to their own.

Re: Best Movie Soundstracks

If we're including game soundtracks, the score to Journey by Austin Wintory is outstanding, even more so when it's combined with the game itself.

The Truman Show

Can't think of any more for the moment that haven't already been mentioned!

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I don't think there's any doubt that the interlocking cobra roll/batwing hasn't been done before, I can't see them marketing that as a worlds first though, it doesn't seem enough of a thing to appeal to non-enthusiasts.

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Please no significant backwards sections, otherwise the ride might as well be called the Vomit Comet.

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

I've just got back from visiting the park today and experiencing Sub-Terra since the scare maze was added. The speakers behind your head were an alright addition, I've heard mention on here that there is supposed to be air blown on your neck, but I certainly didn't feel anything where I was sitting....

It's a nice idea, but I think the towers are too obscured by trees for the effect to really work for the fireworks.

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Didn't Thirteen's location affect the layout and length though? There were very places they could put metalwork in the ground and what load could be placed there?

Re: need help re sun free tickets

You'll have no problems using them to get into the park, I've swapped The Sun tickets in the past for better dates and it's never been a problem.

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Interesting (but totally ridiculous and probably unlikely) idea for the worlds first element. Bare in mind this has come to me without checking if something already does this or even looking at the plans again... The long straight bit of track before the vertical lift... Which is presumably some bl...

I always thought code black was a bomb scare or similar, code blue is generally for imminent loss of life (heart attack, etc.). Different places will have their own systems though.

SAW's platform is on the top level remember, so a disabled lift isn't out of the question.

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

There's no way that any park would build a ride with the worlds steepest drop and hide it away inside a building where it can't be seen. I'll be very curious to see how the layout inside the building turns out though, as it all seems a bit of a mystery. A SAW-esque drop in the building would be welc...
