Re: Staff and Recruitment Discussion 2015

I'm sure they would be fine with you only working the holidays, I myself used to just work during the summer whilst I was at uni. Just make sure to explain what dates you can work when you're at your assessment centre. :)

Re: Staff Benefits

All Merlin staff receive 40 visits, in two sets of 20. These can be used in any Merlin attraction worldwide for either the staff member or their friends (so they could do one trip with 39 friends, or 40 trips on their own). Just to clarify, not all Merlin staff receive 40 tickets. Seasonal staff wi...

Re: Working as a ride op or host!

When you have your assessment centre you will be given an availability form where you can mark which days on the calendar you are unable to work. Then if you are successful and want to book more holidays at some point in the year, they have an online system where you can request them. :)

Re: Rudeness to staff

Last month I was on Ripsaw and the entire ride was held up because a man refused to pull his OTSR down! :/ He was simply removed from the ride. The way he spoke to the poor ride attendant was appalling. I later found out that the same guy had been sat next to me on The Smiler haha You don't pull th...

Re: Ride Downtime 2013

Yes I would definitely agree with that, as you said if it had broken in two the front half wouldn't have stopped where it is, as that isn't a low point, its obviously been purposely placed there to take some carriages off :)

Re: Ride Downtime 2013

RMT needs splitting for certain mechanical work to take place and it certainly wouldn't stall as that is impossible with this ride (I know because I have worked on it before anyone says). Umm... actually it can stall. If there was a power cut or one of the motors failed then the train would lose mo...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Guys the theme has changed, the ambulance was never going to work based on the new theme. The game-stall is no where near completed therefore there is still an opportunity for them to add themeing. Actually in the original plans it was due to be a surveillance van, its just after the teaser video f...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I thought themeing part C was meant to be the ambulance?  :? It's now a game station?  :? It's Merlins way of thinking... "Why have a fitting theming feature when we can build a shed and make some money?" lol Actually I believe that their contract with HB Leisure states that the...

It's funny that a small plane was flying over AT for an hour or so today, so the weather couldn't of been that bad ;)

Re: X Sector Refurbishment

The fact that they are laying paths now makes it obvious that x-sector will be open in March, if it wasn't there wouldn't be any need for this until the rest of the ride was complete.

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

:P What about random generated spins? on the "Secret Weapon"? Also the spider says 15 spins but it had 16 inversions so i don't get why? There isn't going to be any sort of trick track on this so there won't be any randomly generated spins, I'm pretty sure the secret element will have a s...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

That particular article we were given express permission to post Other than extreme rare cases like that, nothing from The Pulse is to be revealed. It's that simple. It just seems a bit inconsistent that they are very strict about it being for employees only, and then they go and allow an article t...
