Looking to make friends

Hi my name is Alex 36 from me Portsmouth. Im looking to make some like-minded friends who also enjoy theme parks and rollercoasters. I have been to 33 theme parks and have 140 credit's ( not that I'm really counting) I would describe myself as having a reserved interest rather than classify myself a...

Re: Planning: Kentucky Kingdom, Holiday World, Kings Island, Cedar Point road trip 2020

I am also doing a 2020 USA trip but I am limited to 14 days and can only include 1 of the 3 parks as part of our schedule. (Kennywood, Holiday World, Kentucky Kingdom) Which would be the best place to visit? It seems that there is/will be, one world class rollercoaster at each.

Re: Project 2020

I live an hour away from Thorpe and haven't had a reason to visit TP for 5 years. Def won't bother this year or next if no major ride. On the plus side the lack of development has pushed me into Europe and I'm discovering many new parks. I just hope that they pull something out the bag soon. It woul...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

It's a shame, I haven't had reason to visit Thorpe Park for years and it's my local park. On the plus side it's pushed me to travel to other parks and discover new places. I do hope they add something new soon. They are losing my money to Europe.

Re: The 'How busy will it be?' Topic

Hello I'm going to Blackpool Pleasure Beach on Monday 4th June and I notice that the park is only open for six hours. Is this enough time to get around the park? I'm aware that Icon will have just opened two weeks before.

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

As the end of the ride is meant to suggest escape and defeat of the Wicker Man, I think there should be water vapour in the shed and it should fill with a blue water projection to suggest that the fire has been extinguished.

Phantasialand vs Heide park

I've searched online for this but it only return's German comparisons. I have been to Europa and very much enjoyed it but now I'm looking to spend my birthday weekend in June at one of these parks. Both Parks look great but I can't decide which is better or more worth the visit. I've decided against...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - New for 2016

I am eagerly waiting for tps new ride like everyone else but having the anticipation of my new htc vive has been a nice distraction. Having played around with the vive and tried the obligatory jump scares I am expecting that with the inclusion of the vive on the ride with all the extra immersion of ...

Best Toys for a Theme Park enthusiast

Im going to kick start this thread with a kinetic motion sculpture as featured on iron man. I have been wanting one of these for a while. The motion really reminds me of the swinging nature of a flat ride. Hopefully we can add more to the list. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhFHAEQ5x4c" onclick="w...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Can I just say to all that by submitting links to stories it increases the click rate of that story and therefore makes it artificially popular. Articles like these should be boycotted to reduce exposure and therefore profitability. If we find a story im sure we can quote from the story without prov...

Re: SW8

I forsee that SW8 will now be completely rethought. Its taken this long to justify a woody due to the supposed unsafe public perception. AT will now want to reinforce to families that AT is perfectly safe so I expect SW8 to be a tame family ride with a focus on experience rather than thrills.

Im glad that Thorpe is getting a decent investment for 2016. I can imagine something like Arthur at Europa fits the description pretty well.

Re: Finally going to Alton Towers!

OK so I have managed to get a room at the Alton Towers Hotel for the Wed night so we plan to spend the day driving up on Wednesday 17th Sep and then in park on Thursday. I have never stayed in the hotel before. I am now interested to know if there is any entertainment in the evenings and also if the...

Seasonal scare mazes?

I took my younger brother to Thorpe Park scare maze and we really enjoyed asylum two years ago. I notice on the scaretour website that there are actually LOADS of popup seasonal scare mazes throughout the UK in October and I wondered which ones were worth visiting and if the independent ones were as...
