Re: Merlin General Discussion - New Owners agreed in £4.8bn deal

I'm reading this morning the entire Merlin group has agreed a £4.8 billion takeover deal. Kirkbi Invest says it has the money and experience to "realise the company's potential to grow". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-48797245 What do you think this will mean for AT and the other UK b...

Re: 2014 Scarefest

£280 for The Ultimate Sleepover does seem way over the top imo. Disregard the park entry for 2 days as most of us have annual passes, I think it's really overpriced. You could probably get a last minute all inclusive for a week in Tenerife or somewhere for that...

Re: 2014 Scarefest

Disappointing to not see a new fully fledged scare maze and another 'scare zone'. Can see the park are focusing more on the family experience this year! It will be interesting to see what 'resort wide atmosphere' additions will be made. The return of Hex:Live? Duel:Live?

Re: 2014 Scarefest

Taken from ScareTour:

We are led to believe that the three maze experiences for Scarefest at Alton Towers are: Scary Tales (new for 2014). The Sanctuary (with a twist) and the classic Terror of The Towers. More news as it is finalised...

Re: Fright Nights

Can anyone remember the price to fast track the 5 mazes last year? We did it last year and considering the queues thought it was worth it! Probably hoping to do the same this year and wondering what sort of price it was.

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Just saw on the Merlin site it was upfront only. Bit of a wounder, had I had a few more months to put some cash a side I would have got one of these! I do think introducing a monthly payment scheme for the annual pass & VIP would be advantageous. As previously stated, a contract would need to be...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Can you purchase the VIP annual passes on a monthly basis or is it upfront £500?

Re: 2014 Scarefest

Also, what was Hex Live like? Because I didn't know there was Hex Live? Anyone going to answer my question? No one's answered my question. :( I have never experienced Hex live personally however to my understanding live actors interacted with people queuing for the ride :) Hex Live was awesome! The...

Sub Terra Broke!

We were just on sub terra when it seemingly broke! Lights didn't go off when we dropped, we saw the egg spin around before hand. Effects didn't trigger what so ever and now they're kicking everyone out of the queue! This happened previously does anyone know?

Re: 2013 Scarefest

Went to TP Fright Nights on Saturday, going to Towers today, I must say, Fright Nights (in terms of mazes) was on a level towers haven't got anywhere near as of yet! Honestly feel it's going to be tough for Scarefest to top it! Hoping it will though!

Is the extreme ticket available for each maze? And is the £14 for one maze only?

Re: 2013 Scarefest

The thing that guy's stood on is a storage container which they've pretty much attached to the goal striker building, in terms of lighting, the usual flood's have been put in place along the bottom of the Towers themselves. There hasn't been any work on The Smiler in terms of lighting and I firmly b...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

The theme'ing and shock factor first time round is brilliant! As previously said, going on it with someone who doesn't know what to expect makes it even more worthwhile! Once you've been on it a few times, the anticipation of the drop also adds to the ride experience. It's a solid ride and well wort...

Re: 2013 Scarefest

Would certainly get the extreme tickets if they were available, does anyone have any further info on them? I always thought there was a need for them. The mazes currently are only really worth going on for the scares if you're in the front 2-3 people. Otherwise, you tend to see what's about to happe...

Re: 2013 Scarefest

I think the recent questionaire they've asked for people to complete online may have a fairly significant say in the running of this years scare fest. I'm another one who's been going year in year out and I'm not happy in the slightest with the park going backwards in terms of scare fest! With so ma...
