Re: Comedy Coaster Catchphrase Competition!!

By the way Simon, I am probably missing something obvious here lol, but who is Andy Shine? I cannot yet think of any further funny coaster names... however, in answer to your question. ANDY SHINE is the cheesy gameshow host featured on my [www.rollercoastermedialibrary.com] website. That's him on t...

Re: Comedy Coaster Catchphrase Competition!!

Hi Towers' Times'ers I recall a woodie in the US (now defunct) called 'Hercules' that was referred to by many enthusiasts as 'Hurt-Your-Knees,' due to the limited legroom. That frequently amused me. 'Oblivi-yawn' was another. There must me others... Simon Baynham (Andy Shine's Glamorous Assistant!)

Re: Mid-90s Roller Coaster Documentary?

Hi Towers' Times'ers Just racking my brains trying to recall the coaster enthusiast's name who purchased, refurbished, built and operated his steel mouse at Brean. I know it too, but it won't come to me - YET! Themes, Dreams and Scream Machines was never offically released on VHS or DVD, that's why ...

Re: Snow Watch - 2010/2011

Hello Towers' Times'ers

Blackpool (Pleasure Beach / Central Pier / Tower / Stanley Park) = Free from snow, but plenty of frost! Let it stay this way (I hate snow!)

Hi Towers' Times'ers.

Speaking of wonderful Europa Park. I recently ordered one copy of their new DVD celebrating 35-Years of operation. Anyone else got it?

Re: Mid-90s Roller Coaster Documentary?

Hi Towers' Times'ers Wow! You just prompted me to dig out my old collection of dusty VHSs! I have the programme you're referring to: it is on a VHS together with "The Terror Technicians" and "Themes, Dreams and Scream Machines." Remember those? The programme was called "Coas...

Re: New to the forum? Introduce yourself here!

Hi Towers' Times'ers Simon Baynham (Andy Shine's Glamorous Assistant!) here. Joined the Forum just a couple of days' ago, and made a couple of posts. I'm a member of the RCCGB (#881), ECC (#2112), and Club Pleasure Beach (#019.5). I used to enjoy riding roller coasters obsessively and repeatedly... ...

Re: The Grand Knockout Tournament (1987)

Hi Towers' Times'ers Yes, I remember -as a young lad- the original series' of It's A Knockout. (RIP Eddie Waring!) It was a great programme, and always good for a laugh. However, this 'Royal' debacle was nothing more than a publicity stunt to show the Royals in a good light. I remember at the time, ...

Re: Your Dream AT Merchandise

Hi Towers' Times'ers Yeah, coaster/Alton Top Trumps sounds great. But as an avid collector of theme park books and films, a PROPER book or DVD about Alton Towers would be smashing. Would love to see rides from the past, how maintenance is conducted, who makes the big decisions - board meetings etc.....

Re: The John Wardley Interview - Submit Your Questions NOW!

Dear John Wardley

What do you think of coaster clubs and 'enthusiasts' in general? Do you find that 'enthusiasts' are occasionally anything BUT enthusiastic?
