Re: BPB - losing appeal?

I love Blackpool and think it gives good value for money - theme parks in general have a reputation for bad value but people forget that it is a whole day out, not just a couple of hours. It cost me £18 for me and the missus to go to the cinema at the weekend with a coke - thats bad value. Blackpool...

Re: Honeymoon Planning.

I would look to Europe as a nice road trip. Try the cheap overnight ferry from Hull to Rotterdam with your car and visit Efteling. Then its a short drive down to Cologne for Phantasialand and Movie park. Not too far further south is Europa park and you could circle back round to Disney Paris and bac...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach 2013: Wallace & Gromit dark ride

Anybody know exactly when this will open? Or a ball park time if an exact date is not known?

Ive got my tesco voucher to visit but don't want to go until this opens - i'm itching to get on those coasters though!

Re: Florida Trip April 2013

You could always try the option of 4 Disney parks in 2 days - this is what me and my missus did when we had a week on Orlando 2 years ago (september - very quiet). We started with Animal Kingdom on opening, did Lion King show, Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, Rapids, Tough to be a bug, Safari and the g...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach All Time Greats - Which Ride Would Win?

Big Dipper for me - slightly more fun and less hurty than Grand National.

Re: bright, clean walkways/stuff -an unsung contributer to *magic*

I would agree that it does help, although the general cleanliness of the ground is as important. Ive read somewhere that Disney steam clean the pathways every night. I also think that ground cover is an opportunity to be different from the real world to help create some 'magic'. By this I mean not u...

Re: People smoking outside of designated areas.

I would prefer it if all smokers went to the DSA, no matter what, and AT really need to start cracking down on people smoking outside of them - it makes them look like they don't care about their guests. Some of you have mentioned being careful and not smoking where you think people won't be affecte...

Re: Disneyland and California Adventure TR

No, they don't have the ride anymore (not sure where it was, so don't know what its been replaced with) I thought it was a good park overall. I know whats been altered and added over the last couple of years, so I can imagine that before it wasn't good at all. Theres still a few rides that don't mak...

Re: Disneyland and California Adventure TR

Whilst i enjoyed Toy Story mania I didn't see what could be massively impressive with it. I would guess the rides are the same in Florida and California - I remember it like this - get in a 4 person car (2 person back to back) and move around a track to various screens where you shoot at targets, al...

Re: Disneyland and California Adventure TR

Day 3 - Disney's California Adventure The day started early, 8am opening, we got there around 8.15, walked straight through to the cars race rally fast pass distribution and . . . . . . . there is what looks like a 30min queue, just for the fast pass tickets. So, we go straight to the ride to see th...

Re: Europa-Park: Trip Planning, Questions and Advice!

I'm wondering about taking a trip for new years eve. Has anybody been at this time and will it be a lot busier? i.e. is 2 days enough to do everything when its that busy? Sounds like they have good throughputs, but it looks like they make a big deal of NYE, so thought i'd ask. After reading though a...

Disneyland and California Adventure TR

Following on from my TR at Universal in Singapore, me and the missus managed to fly back via LA and had a few days to break it up, so there was only 1 place we were going to go of course (after a flying visit to Disney World, Florida, which we loved). The visit started out odd as we left Oz at 10pm ...

Universal Singapore Sept 19th 2012

Hi All. I was lucky enough to have a trip to Austrailia that i have just come back from with my wife. To break up the long journey we had a stop in Singapore on the way out and one in LA on the way back (Disneyland TR to come later). Had 3 days in Singapore, the middle one was allocated for Universa...

Re: How Would You Feel About a New UK Theme Park?

I was reading through all the posts and thinking that the area around Milton Keynes is the best bet, then Ponder went and put just that! MK is good in terms of location because it would allow both us northerners and the southerners to access it within a reasonable time and therefore get the maximum ...

Disneyland CA and Universal Singapore

Hi Guys This September and October I am lucky enough to be heading over to Aussie land for 10 days with my wife. Either side of this I will stopping off in Singapore on the way and Los Angeles on the way back. I'm quite happy with the research and things I have read on Universal Singapore, going for...

Re: WB Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter

The expansion ideas i read about were to expand the studio with other film sets and props. The most notable mentioned was the Dark Knight which was filmed there (and presumably this years Dark Knight Rises). If you look at the buildings signage, it has the ''making of harry potter'' and ''WB studio ...

Re: The conundrum that is Merlin Studios

^ Yes, that it the problem. What they should be doing is telling the parks that they have no choice but to use Merlin Studios, then what ponder wrote works (which I what I would agree they use this system for). A couple of other thoughts - Don't Disney use this system as well with WDI being a sepera...

Re: Drayton Manor 2012 Season

I rode this for the 1st time last year and enjoyed it. I could tell that a few things wern't working and there could have been more theming to fill in gaps, but overall not a bad ride. There were clearly quite a few boats missing from the track, noticible by a few large gaps between some of the boat...

Word of warning on using the busses to get to Disney following a not too enjoyable experience of mine! Here's the story - Staying at a hotel near sea world on I-drive, had a hire car but we stupidly decided that it would be better to get the bus and save on the parking charge. Got there fine on the ...
