Re: Quick Questions 2011

Im staying in the Hotel in September with a group of friends, one of whom suffers very badly from a leg and foot problem (reg disabled). She doesn't use the passes etc as she doesn't want to make a scene, so we've never brought anything with us for her to show this. When we last stayed over in Febua...

Re: 2011: The Honest Truth

A heck of a lot of guests use the Two for One offer (of the non gate, on the day gate non gate price :? ). This will be an added bonus for them as they'll be able to save a packet and get ERT. It's a simple, but nice touch. No money grabbing, no alternative motive, no having to sign up to this or th...

Re: Quick Questions 2011

Hey all,

Can anyone give me a rough idea how much the restuarants are in the AT hotels, say with 2 beers or a glass of wine and then how much generally it is to have a couple of jars after dinner. I have an Annual Pass, but i presume it doesn't work on alcohol :(

Cheers

Are the AT Bus service return tickets for the same day, or can you buy a return and well, return 2 days later?

Re: Discusted with BlockBuster

To be fair, from what I saw i think you're right - wasn't overly keen on Anniston's performance to be honest. Thanks for the advice guys - now that i've calmed down i've decided i'll give their head office a call tomorrow. In heindsight I should have just asked for the Manager there and then really,...

Re: oblivion extension

Wouldn't it cost roughly the same to removed track, add track, rebuild the tunnel section and god knows what else mentioned, as having a new coaster manufactured? From a marketing perspective, the public will buy a new coaster over a modified one. OBLIVION: THE RETURN or BRAND NEW AT ALTON TOWERS - ...

Discusted with BlockBuster

I rented a few DVD's a few days back under their 3 for 10.50 deal. Two of them were perfectly fine, however The Bounty Hunter jumped around constantly meaning I missed whole chapters and everything in the last 2 chapters. I checked on another 2 DVD players to see if it was just my TV playing up, but...

Re: Half term opening brought forward and Facebook free entry!

It's not even as if AT have worded the offer in such a way you could be stung by it. It's in plain English with very basic instructions. I do understand people's frustration at the Blackberry 8520 as I have one myself and cannot get Places as I don't have GPS, but that's hardly Alton Towers fault. M...

Re: Half term opening brought forward and Facebook free entry!

Out of curiosity, does anyone know who runs the Facebook for Alton Towers? They were still online answering questions around 2 hours ago. That's pretty good customer service. Fair play to AT though, brilliant deal that is bound to bring in customers that wouldn't normally entertain the idea of visti...

Re: Displaying Ticket prices without VAT. Misleading Much?

I agree with Merlin's stance against the huge levy of VAT on the leisure industry because they only real people it hurst are the customers, however there are much better ways of them making their point. It would be much more effective if they display the total price at the end and then something sim...

Re: On-the-gate prices over the years

It's like charging for parking at Alton Towers - public transport links are basically non-existent, everyone has to park, so why not cover it in your ticket price? I've never had a problem using public transport getting to Alton Towers, it's pretty well connected for the middle of nowhere. I don't ...

Re: Alton Towers Recruitment 2011

Brilliant replies cheers; my curiosity is now tamed.
I see it's a lot more complex than I imagined, from someone who works in the bar trade I tried to place that there and was somewhat right. Just one more, what is a code red and by managers I presume you mean Towers management?

Re: Alton Towers Recruitment 2011

Out of curiosity what is the structure like at Alton Towers?

I've always imagined it like this:
Ride host
Ride Op
Area supervisor
Shift manager
Management

But im guessing there's a little more involved by the looks of it.

Re: Alton Towers Event This Weekend???

I suppose it does say event too, several times actually.

It's too close to next weekend to be anything major, or have a major act on etc. Maybe it's a small scale park viewing or something similiar? I guess we'll find out in 9 hours.

Re: Merlin buy Sydney attractions

Sorry to sound completely ignorant, but what was that about Merlin leasing Towers after buying it? Did they essentially aquaire Tussaurds, then sell Alton Towers land and keep the brand and managing rights? Or sell it off and basically pay rent?

Re: On-the-gate prices over the years

Having said that, it is somewhat confusing, and at the end of the day AT should be trying to help consumers, not confuse them... One of the best things i've read on here so far! Alton Towers aren't helping themselves here eiher are they? YOU PAY: £33.66 sounds a lot more expensive than £33 or £34 a...

Re: Alton Towers Event This Weekend???

Maybe with all the animosity over the Merlin Annual Pass, Alton Towers are heavily discounting the cost of a Towers pass?

Just a thought?
