Re: Quick Questions 2012

Towers does pretty well in its cuts - most of the cuts don't affect guests days out, and those which have are generally reversed.

Towers will be running their rides at full capacity tomorrow (or close to, in the case of oblivion).

Re: Slammer: Staying or going?

The tight shoulder restraints appear to be a big contributor to those that say the ride is painful. It might be in Thorpe's best interests to put something in the queue line announcement or loading announcement about pulling the shoulder bar down so it rests lightly on your shoulders and pull the l...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

How about, you just actually go and do it with a rough idea of whats happening, than wanting to know absolutely every single detail and therefore **ruining** it for yourself?!

Re: monorail

What is irritating for me, is even when they've got the towers st one playing - all the music is far too quiet. Turn it up, for god sake!

As much as i adore the new soundtrack on the new dvd, the ice age advert really gets on my tits.

Re: Quick Questions 2012

Dave pointed it out to me yesterday when we were on Squirell Nutty :P Apparently there is one near Duel as well. It looks like some kind of Wi-fi or reciever box, I dont think its CCTV. There was rumours earlier in the year that the park was getting free wi-fi, so this could but that. It's in prepa...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

They're trying to work on it - the light is from CCTV monitors. The windows tinted glass, but when there's light behind one way glass you can see everything anyway.

Hopefully a solution appears soony. It does spoil it majorly watching the op just sit there during a "power failure".

Re: Official Oakwood Thread!

Oakwood was screwed over from the H&S incident.. though they were to blame.

Hopefully debt has been reduced enough to afford investment.

Re: Drayton Manor 2012 Season

Bit of a lie with G Force though - although the ride has a short layout, you could easily load the train in the time one is going round the track. So, it could very easily at least double its throughput, when taking into consideration of loading time of just one train as well. Shockwave, although th...

Re: Is the Recession Hitting Towers Hard?

However, there's been a LOT of people who have been re-riding sub terra, having ridden it in March and didn't even know about the changes. It all depends on how towers can keep in peoples mind - it's handy they have 1.1m likes on facebook, as they can almost constantly remind people about themselves...

Re: Nemesis - Has it been left to rot?

To be fair to them, artists would cost a lot.. a hell of a lot.. to get stuff repainted. Most of the park has been left to become it's current self, and to improve everything to its original standard would cost more than it's worth. Lego repainted almost its entire park over this winter, and cost it...

Only chessington, as they have zoo days, and towers during the winter event.

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

Thorpes toilets were completely redone twice in a period that chessingtons were left to rot...

That's just one example of infrastructure. Thorpes had way more than chessie anyway.

Re: Rude staff?

I highly, highly, highly, doubt a staff member said such a thing - did they do it in your earshot? Or is your friend generalising due to being upset about not being able to go on or other reasons? From every experience I've had, particularly on rides, they're extremely sensitive about any issues and...

Re: Drayton Manor 2012 Season

Seems silly to have that clause in it, that it rains continuously for an hour (it says heavily as well - it rarely, if ever, rains heavily for an entire hour). Surely it'd be better for them to loosen up the terms, make people aware, get people using it, and filling the park better off-peak? Seconda...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

The ride wasn't what it was at the beginning due to running out of time it seems, most of these additions were planned from the start.

And now, who cares if we have a few moaners on ttf. The public actually genuinely love it now. That's all that matters!

When you spoke about water feature, I thought of the one with the splash logo, rather than outside?

Both are ace, imo. Hotels have never looked better (since they've opened that is)

Re: Drayton Manor 2012 Season

Mad Monday should of been done on a Bank Holiday, not a obscure Monday here, some schools may be off but I don't think this marketing ploy will work. The marketing ploy is to get guests in on days which are quiet - on days which otherwise they would usually be closed (closed on mondays a couple of ...
