Re: Transport - Induction/Training Day

If you find out who else is going to these inductions then you could meet at stoke station and grab a taxi there...it's £20.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Just to point out, the hydraulic arms we've seen in those pictures are static and won't move. The clue is the fact they've been made by merlin studios who specialise in thematic elements NOT hydraulics.

If they were real they would've been kept in the factory until installation is required.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Just to point out, steel dragon cost $52,000,000 because they had to make it earthquake proof due to the park being near a major fault...we'll probably never see that record being broken..so much steel an foundation work had to be done which sent the costs up dramatically, that and the exchange rate...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

You may well be within the law doing this, but morally it's totally wrong...we all love Alton towers and how unique their construction of coasters is, by doing this you're going against everything their marketing works towards... To put it another way, you wouldn't go behind your best mates back to ...

I think the only ride you might struggle to get on is ripsaw, I've seen fairly average people not fit on there before, quite strange really!

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

I just do not believe that nine inversions will happen. This is because, Thorpe Park are 10 inversions behind the inversions record of 32 (Six Flags Magic Mountain), therefore to go for the gimmick and bragging rights, they would need 11- possibly needing 2 or 3 coasters. http://i1138.photobucket.c...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

 I love the idea of "Construction Worker of the Week". Can we make it a regular feature please? (preferably with a TV Burp style jingle?) Maybe at the end of the project we could vote for a winner? ^THIS!! Anyway, the site is pretty large, at the [email protected] behind the scenes you got a fe...

Re: The 'I Feel Down' Topic

It's now been a month since I last seen my little boy...and I miss him so freaking much :( :(. It feels like he's died to me, I've gone from seeing him everyday for the last 3 years to not once in the last month, it's a horrible feeling I don't wish on anyone. I spoke to my ex asking how he was etc,...

A little off topic I know, but my god is that Stengel dive on Goliath a beautiful coaster element, currently nursing a semi thinking about gliding over that gloriously shaped steel..fap fap!! But yeah anyway, something among the likes of maverick (100ft high) or I-speed without the top hat of course...

Sorry for the bump, but just thought I'd update you on my phone cover situation (previous page) So on sunday for the TTF meet I took my cover to guest services to see if I could get a replacement, I told them when I bought it and how it only took a week to start deteriorating, he apologised and said...

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

Essentially yes. Realistically though, what is he likelihood of Thorpe running three trains? I know it's three years early and what not, but if this happens it would be fantastic for the park, it would take so much pressure off the other 5 coasters plus with more flats outlined in the mtdp..the futu...

This idea was brought up a while ago. Reliability would be an issue, what if it seized while inverted, for example?

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

It's really hard to explain the idea without speaking in person, but essentially you would enter onto the trick track, the whole track inverts 180 degrees, the brakes release and you dive into the lower section of the station then into your traditional in-line gerstlauer element, therefore putting a...
