Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm and General Discussion

It was down until around 4 yesterday... The fire is tempermental really, but I guess that's like many things, especially when it's a new effect, it won't catch alight every time... It's very cool though when it goes off though, especially when you're on the Stealth brake run... Thorpe had about 6/7 ...

Re: thorpe park terrible car park system!

Problem is if payment had to occur on entry to the park, then we'd have to queue to enter the park twice essentially... And whilst it's more common doing it this way abroad, the parks here lack the infrastructure really to do it I think... It's defo something that needs looking at though, since all ...

Re: KILLER IDEA: Solar panels/farm powers your rides?

-Benzin- If you can tell me what happens when good mother prehistoric sludge runs out, what will we do? Sit in the dark? Maybe we can live off candle light and row the Atlantic. Get real, now personally I think wind and solar are not solutions in their own right, but along with Hydro-Electric, hydr...

Re: KILLER IDEA: Solar panels/farm powers your rides?

There's one major flaw in the plan which hasn't been looked at... We're in the UK... Therefore, the effiency of an already not that very efficiency will lower even more... Clean energy in fact is actually silly, as you need to do MORE work, in order to produce the same amount of energy that is curre...

Re: Chessington 2013

It is, and considering Chessie have planning issues that makes Towers' look like they could build a 2000ft tall ride, it's not a surprise...

As an idea for a ride, it's good, especially as they can only use the land available for zoo related goodies, but the name sucks...

Re: Nemesis Water Colouring Gone!

It's because of the excessive flooding that occurred earlier resulting in a relatively expensive and difficult method of taking the water away... For some reason, it seems management have panicked in case this one off event happens again and to prevent the pipe system getting clogged by the dye and ...

Re: London Eye open 'til midnight

It would be pointless it being open till midnight that often, it is REALLY empty from the evening theatre performances onwards really... Still get people going on it at 9:30/10 (whenever it normally closes) but nowhere near enough to justify it outside of the Olympics...

Re: Ordered ticket online, but....

Thats nice Merlin. I accidentally clicked the wrong day. So CHARGE me for it. Most companies do this... Indeed, rearranging my flights for Germany with EasyJet cost essentially the SAME AMOUNT as the flights cost in the first place... One of these days people will stop bashing Merlin for things tha...

That awkward moment when people post on how they cheat the system and Towers reads the forum...

Expect them to clamp down on it soon enough...

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

Intensity does not automatically make a ride good though, Intimidator 305 has had some rather mixed reviews for being too intense, so often the level of intensity can actually make a ride worse... Taking OzIris again, it had intensity, but nothing like Nemesis level, meaning it allows a very good le...

Okay, no-one will believe me but thorpe is in a deal with B&M for 2015. I know someone who works for Merlin. I know people who work for Merlin as well, doesn't mean their information is always correct... And yes, I think people need to stop this "Modern B&Ms are dull" and go ride ...

This just reminds me of that time when AP holders could use Fastrack in the last hour of park operation at Chessie...

Granted this isn't for free... But maybe I would be more interested in the one shot stuff at other parks if there was a discount involved...

They break because like any mechanical system, it will eventually wear down and break...

Components degrade in a natural sense, even more so when they're being used constantly every day, there's not really anyway to get around it even with current industry standards... It's unavoidable really...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (**contains spoilers**)

Not everyone is gonna be happy with it, but I'd pay more attention to the results of the surveys located at the exit of the ride, rather than people on Facebook... It's amazing how opinions change when you become faceless...
