Re: Alton Towers: What Ever Happened to...?

If you go to the toilets on the path between duel and FV and look over the fence you will see the daisy themed train on the floor with some doors open and one of the driver cab windows missing.

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I wonder if lack of info e.g ride line up, 2016 map, F&B outlets. is down to internal politics / meeting on who want what open/closed etc.

Re: Ride photo pickup charge.

I think the next time i am on park, i will go to a ORP booth and ask about the price, make the oh yes i will look, then ask if pick up from towers trading is still free. when they say no its a pound. I will reply with "oh well, i was going to buy one but not now" and walk off. If enough pe...

Re: X Sector Refurbishment

Just a quick thought.. The van theming element in X sector. Couldn't it be the ambulance used in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLcFwxTIhC0&list=UUWr05Cjj6w-EmLVdyCdlVvA&index=12 ??? I mean it seems a bit of a waste for Alton towers to buy an ambulance and only use it for one d...

its has a cartoonish look to it and some loud paint. if it was in mutiny bay it would look really out of place, But on the edge of CCL it fits in perfectly.

i am 33, i been into alton since 1993 when i first went. I been quiet about it for years, then a few years ago I started chatting about it, coming on forum, etc. At work staff are not that interested but students enjoy chatting about AT. the Travel and tourism students really do like chatting to me,...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

do you know when you'll be up next MI7? MI7 need a few things to be right to get an update. like Weather, and visibility. Spare time to get into the air A serviceable aircraft Someone with the right camera to take the photos. So when all these come together we get an aerial update. And I hope these...

Re: Alton Towers Dreams: How Obsessed Are You?

I was walking with ABPA (a floating device that a bit like Weebo from flubber) during closed season. I could just walk anywhere as the park was empty of everyone including staff. I was walked about behind the scenes of rides, then i would jump onto the ride and ABPA would interface with the rides an...

Re: Alton Towers radio

The practical aspects of getting radio Alton Towers on the air, causes big problems. Licence Merlin would have to show Ofcom that they would serve a group living within the geographical location, to have the station running for any time longer then 28 days twice a year.  Also with Ofcom push to...

Re: Alton Towers radio

HMV. as other station do travel news, I don't think it will fill the requirement for a CR licence. With 50 watt ERP and the position of alton towers, i could with a radio connected to the right Ariel on my mast get it form Shropshire wales border.

Re: Alton Towers radio

What licence would it be run under. Restricted Service Licence (RSL) is split into two types Short term and Long term. Short term This is the one used for truckfest and air tatoo radio stations, as they last for only 28 day and only issued twice in one 12 month period four complete months apart. run...

Re: Are you allowed a GoPro camera on the rollercoasters?

The use of camera equipment without suitable harnesses/mounts for the rides forces. could make the equipment into a dangerous projectile. that can seriously injure people or damage ride equipment.

Alton Tower should move to Shropshire and sell the land to a nuclear waste processing company :D That would teach them for being short sighted.

Re: Is closed season necessary?

I think winter closing is good. as i don't want to turn up and find my favourite ride closed for maintenance. anyway grease become thicker when its cold, so the coasters would be slower and there would be a higher risk of stalls.
