Re: TT ScareMazing North 2016 - Reviews & Feedback

Cheers for organising a great meetup and extras. I was the guy with the Illuminous green Ninja Turtle snood/hat on. My second time at a TT event and since I now live closer to Towers am looking forward to future meetups. Had a great time and those I did speak to seem nice and all seemed to have a gr...

Re: SP ScareMazing South 2015 - Reviews & Feedback

Great little event yesterday. Was hesitant at doing a SP meet at first as how SP ended a few years ago. But it seems back with a vengeance. Appreciated the tours and organisation of those who organised it and the fastrack. I was in Martin's group and we had a great tour with Adam, who really tried t...

Re: The 'How busy will it be?' Topic

I don't think it'll be that busy as I'm there at a meet up on 20th and Drayton Manor 21st.

Re: Largest Queue For Monorail

I normally get to Alton Towers just before ERT when I visit, and so decide to drive up to the end near the gates so I can get out easier at the end of the day. (I find many more people do this now than used to) As a result I'm parked nowhere near the monorail station so I walk to and from the park t...

Re: Five Nights At Freddy's

I absolutely love the lore and back story of this game. Not only the effort went to by the person making the game, but also the things he left us out to rumour for ourselves. Although I am a big fan and feel if the third is the last, he ended it well and cleared up a lot of questions in the series e...

A.W.W.'s - "EPIC" meetup.

On Saturday 28th April, Alton Towers shall be getting the Amusement World Wide treatment with our first meetup of the 2012 season. The more the merrier :) , I'll put a link below to the facebook events page for the meet. It's a weekender, and the second day of EPIC will be held at Drayton Manor on t...

Re: Nemesis: Sub-Terra Discussion (May Contain Spoilers)

**SPOILER ALERT!** I have to say, going on in the first batching of the day I was expecting a ride, not of great importance, but a great ride with the nostalgic Nemesis Vibe. The staff, were really good although at times I felt they used the 'story' to just shout abuse at some of the guests in the p...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

I'm yet to see the advert but seeing as I've tried the 'product' multiple times already, I wholely agree with Astwodan, it's nothing too special. And in a way I'd be happy riding it once per Thorpe Park visit at most, maybe once per every two visits if it does get busy. I'm hoping it alleviates queu...

Re: The future of Duel

I think they should definitely invest in changing the layout of the ride slightly. Rip out the guns and turn the silly lights off. Then also utilise some of the area they have to build onto the haunted house a little, so they have a sort of mini-maze (live actors at weekends, halloween season) so yo...

Re: Aqualand (Past Area)

The swan boats were iconic. I remember the old Alton Towers adverts. Can't believe they ever got ride of them, Battle Galleons is fun, but in no way near as iconic and good, (also relaxing) as the Swan Boats were. :(

Re: Your Favourite place to eat in The Towers and why?

Woodcutter's Bar & Grill, as I can grab myself an alcoholic beverage with my meal, and the meal is always great. Second favourite for me, and first favourite if I feel like a different meal from the usual woodcutters, is British Fish & Chips in forbidden valley. Great quality fish, and the c...

Re: Original Nemesis Audio for sale

If I had the CD I'd share with the online coaster community for free, seems a bit of a jerk-esque thing to do to ask money for it.

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

Have to agree with AstwoDan, The Swarm is greatly themed, and supplies a great first drop. But after that...it just seemed to lack any real fibre for me. It's great in appearance, I look at it and I want to love the ride as much as I love the theming but the ride is just a lot like Air, smooth but s...

Experiment 10

Has anyone else read the reviews? Sounds more psychological than other scare mazes. It's too late for me as my wandering eyes have seen it but if you don't want spoilers then don't click the link below, if you do, then get ready for an interesting read. http://go-merlin.co.uk/wp/archives/4393

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Cannot wait for those crazy clowns and zombies to help the hamble twins take over X-sector. I think this is a good move in making people visit that area of the park just as much as they do the others (no skyride station near X-sector) Will be awesome in X-sector/sonic spinball area this year :)

Re: Alton Pay-As-You-Go Mazes Annual Passes

^ at the risk of sounding ungreatful, at lease at Thorpe when they charge the standard pass holders to get in, you pay once and can queue for mazes as many times as you want, with AT it's a charge for every go you'd want.

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

Dan, how do the chainsaws work? I've been told the chain obviously is taken out. But then i see HHN videos where the guys hit the ground with the chainsaw and spakrs fly up from the concrete, so there must still be something going around the saw. Just always been intrigued by what they do to safety ...

Alton Pay-As-You-Go Mazes Annual Passes

Does anyone else think that Premium Merlin Annual Pass holders should get an extra perk of not having to pay for the pay-as-you-go Boiler house and Carnival of screams mazes?...Or maybe just one free ticket to each per pass, so as not to abuse the system. I just think it'd be nice, as Thorpe's perk ...

Re: Scarefest 2011: General Discussion

^That sounds like potentially less money and effort from Merlin that live actors, and probably nowhere near as good atmosphere. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like last year was a great scarefest so this year they're saving money and just going through the motions, whilst cutting some things ou...
