Re: 2014 Scarefest

If we can just have a version of Field of a Thousand screams back, that will be great...thanks! But in all honesty they could have 'Forest of a thousand screams' haha...Or something like that if they wanted it in park. In all honesty I would rather see them invest in the whole park for Fright Nights...

Re: First timer - any tips?

Simple tips. Get Early Ride Time and do Forbidden Valley First then head straight over on the cable car to Dark Forest (This enables you to ride Air, Nemesis, Ripsaw/Blade, Sky Ride and Rita then Th13teen with minimal wait) - After this point there will be proper queues, however you will have done a...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I like these new VIP Packages available, but the one I am very anti is the Premium Plus with 'all day front row riding' - which just means there will be a fair few peed off people waiting in the front row queue having someone push in! I do not like that, its like Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Port Av...

Re: Future Merchandise Ideas?

My idea was always to have proper 'team wear' merchandise, i.e. like a sports T Shirt with all the advertising on it and recognizable everywhere. It's difficult to grasp, but take for instance an F1 Team's F1 Shirt that anyone can Buy. There are slight differences to the genuine shirts worn by the t...

Re: Rudeness To Staff

I must admit I have been rude myself on a really really bad day and I am not proud to admit it. But we all have to be honest and say we have been rude to a member of staff, whether that's theme park or supermarket at some point in our lives, and unfortunately there will be people who are always rude...

Re: What ERT rides should be open in 2014?

Unquestionably logically it should be only Forbidden Valley, the aim is to get people as far away from The Smiler and CBeebies land as possible for when the mad rush arrives at 10am. Personally I think in some senses they should open the park like the European Parks do, open each area half an hour/H...

Re: On-Ride Breakdown Experiences

I can add to the Air. It did the same up and down, up and down, it left the station by about a metre, then halted, it had an emergency stop, that meant that none of the carriages could come down because it had moved out the station by all of a metre...so yes half an hour of hanging about.

Re: The ride you have queued up the longest for at Alton is???

2.5 Hours for Th13teen when it was new, and the ride was having technical problems! Grahhh!
Longest Queue I have ever waited for though is Se7en (Thorpe Park), Furius Baco (Port Aventura) and Thunder Mountain (Disneyland Paris)...All of which were around 3 Hours.

Re: The Smiler

Excellent Ride, I had a fantastic few days, and got to experience it 3 times, I loved the ride and made sure I didn't know anything about it before I rode...I have not been so apprehensive about a ride since Rita when that was Brand New when I was only 8-9, so yeah it really was imposing. I am amaze...

Re: Fireworks 2013

It was once again a very good Fireworks display, good story to the Fireworks (however I am more of a fan of Pop Music explosions, but most prefer the story, both are good), the only issues with the Fireworks was the smoke which covered a lot of the Fireworks on both Saturday and Friday nights (didn'...

Re: Saw The Ride Contract Expiring

I would say keeping the Saw Contract is simply perfect marketing for a good few more years, everyone knows it as Saw, if you are in the school or work place you always hear people say have you been on Saw! It is such a good marketing tool, I think Thorpe Park would be daft to get rid of such an exce...

Re: 2013 Scarefest

Almost begs the question why they don't close the Mazes on these days until about 6PM then run through until about 9PM on the quiet days, keeping the place as busy as possible for as long as possible! Keep the anticipation going all day! I must say it is easy to blame Merlin, however I business need...

It's not exactly the worlds most exciting news of the world...It really is just someone's no limits idea put into real life...shame, but oh well...At least they still made a big thing about this new ride...Look at our UK parks, they never even get mentioned until one week before opening! LOL

Re: Front queues

Th13teen hardly ever has a queue for the Front Row because its passed the point of being batched by the ride op, so most people assume its where they say, when in actual fact all you have to say is can we go to the front and they will let you through, the sign is right above the operators head! Obli...

Re: Should Alton Towers stay open until 9pm during the Summer?

I would suggest a promotional method like Thorpe Park kind of do, where certain nights of the week Alton have the special event of staying open late, possibly the quiet day of the week during August stays open until 9PM with discounted tickets for a later entry, or something like that. But I have to...

Re: Scarefest Ideas

I must say I always felt the Queue for Terror of the Towers should be Hex's, I feel they should let guests experience Hex (but rename it Terror of the Towers and as they leave that queue they join the main queue for TOTT, by which point they get 2 for 1 and feels like a smaller waiting time.

Re: Outdoor theatre for car park H?

I actually really like this idea, just a shame its Alton Towers and they would not be willing to spend money on a new theater when they don't really want big shows because that costs them even more money! Its a shame because I think it would enhance Alton majorly...You only have to look at the shows...
