Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I didn't renew my PMAP in March of this year. I have not visited the resort since summer 2015. I felt increasingly that the relentless cutbacks were devaluing the resort as a whole. Rides being shut either for the entirety of the season or removed or those that are open having very limited opening d...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Alton have still obviously got a lot of work to do to restore their visitor numbers. Sadly I won't be renewing my MAP. It's not that I don't love the park..far from it. They just haven't proved to me that they actually value me as a customer. I go to the park alone and it's a good two hour journey f...

Re: Two Smiler trains collide -- BREAKING

As a community our first thoughts have to be for the guests who were injured today and hope they make a swift and complete recovery. Obviously we have to wait for the outcome of the investigation which will be taking place in the next few days. We don't know as yet whether this incident is as a resu...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

I did a little digging on the forums and didn't find anything specific about this, so here goes: Are the all day dining passes worth it? Specifically, how many donuts/Waffles + Ices count as a "meal" xD According to T's&C's you may have "One meal, one side and a drink. You may no...

All day dining . Minimum 2 peopke

Hi everyone I'm visiting the park over several days next week alone. I had planned to buy all day dining for at least one day of the visit if not two. The Towers website now says minimum 2 people purchase required. Am I somehow not considered good enough to buy the dining package just because im vis...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Not sure I like these amended opening times. Is it true they have removed the SRQ for Nemmy and Rita??

Re: Towers in the Autumn

I love Autumn when there is just a hint of chill in the air and when the sun hits the dying leaves on the trees, but not so freezing that you get too cold to enjoy yourself. The photos of the park above are beautiful.

Re: Warwick Castle Disabled Parking

Absolutely disgusting IMO. Is there no avenue that is seen as off limits for financial exploitation. Just another money making scheme for Wallet Castle. Couldn't they at least have a concessionary parking rate for the disabled instead of trying to gouge another £10 out of me on top of over inflated ...

Warwick Castle Disabled Parking

Hi all Can anyone confirm whether this is correct or not? It looks like Warwick Castle are now charging disabled visitors for parking? I am taking two disabled people on a visit on August 25th and have a premium Merlin pass so I wouldn't need to pay for standard parking but unfortunately, the two pe...

Re: Duel: Retheme, Replace or Remove?

Rode Duel today and I have to say that like the Flume it is really showing its age and I cannot remember the last time I have seen even the slightest hint of a queue for it. The interior needs ripping out completely and replacing with an up to date haunted house/ dark ride.

Re: If you had to, which ride would you remove?

I would have to say the flume to go next but I also really don't like sub terra. Did not enjoy but to be fair I am claustrophobic so that's prob why I felt uncomfortable. Is there any chance of a refurb for the flume rather than getting rid of it??

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Aha when I go back in a couple of weeks I will drop into the box office and see whether they have them on sale. Pretty poor business practice if they have sold out this early in the season. :-s I can appreciate that they might want to try and sell more one day capsules for a higher price but I am de...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Please can someone clarify this for me. I was at Alton in Towers Trading last weekend and was told that the pass holders drinks capsules were not sold at Alton and advised I would need to go to Thorpe to buy one. That can't be right???

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Ok people. I am visiting the park tomorrow, I realise as it is the weekend it is likely to be busier but I didn't have any other option. I am planning on getting there for 9am, my only question is, whether I need to get off the monorail and wait for the turnstiles to open, or whether there is a dedi...

Re: The Future of The Flume

I have fond memories of the Flume from when I was only a child but I must confess that I haven't been on it in many years. It's in such a dreadful state now that I don't think I want to go anywhere near it. It looks like it's falling apart and looks very tatty. Probably be for the best if it is remo...

Please can anyone tell me about parking with a premium pass

Hi all I finally passed my driving test in October and bought my lovely little car so next week I will be driving myself to Alton and collecting my premium pass. I understand that standard parking is free but I was wondering how this works. Do I need to collect a parking token anywhere or do I scan ...

Re: Towers' Pricing

I am hoping to pass my driving test and buy myself a little car soon, I am spending time thinking about all the places I will have the freedom to go to without relying on trains / public transport, I was really looking forward to buying myself a Merlin annual pass and spending some time in the Merli...

Re: Changes, and thoughts for the future.

I visited AT in September and I was disturbed to see that so many years ater the decommissioning of the Black Hole, the tent is still there and taking up valuable space in a premium spot in the park. Perhaps they should think about removing it. I really think that a thorough clean up of the park sho...
