Re: Towers Loving Care

Hey the staircase looks great! Quick thought, I may be remembering wrong but didn't they say that they were doing the park in areas? Maybe this could see them focussing on X-Sector this year? Even if they didn't say it, they focused very heavily on Forbidden Valley last year with new paths etc, fing...

Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

I was on park today and headed straight over to Galactica around 10am to get it done for the first time, knowing the queue was only going to build throughout the day. I queued for 40 minutes for Galactica and actually quite enjoyed it! I'd give it a 7/10 overall, and thats for a few reasons... First...

Re: SW8

I have to say I agree with Tom on this one, think of a major (& not so major) theme park in the UK that doesn't have a log flume and you come out with hardly any. Every major theme park and most smaller theme parks have a log flume styled ride and I think Alton Towers are really at a disadvantag...

Re: Towers Loving Care

With the rumoured closure of CATCF and the confirmation that ride lineup will change for 2016, could the refurbishment be a change of theme? I know the sponsorship is soon to run out and 2016 is a Roald Dahl Anniversary, yet the resort are being wary to announce any plans to celebrate this on their ...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

6 months ago today if we are going by the 2nd of every month that is :) Leah is proud of herself for the recovery she has made. I cannot believe that the accident was 6 month ago today! Im so proud how far me and joe have come in such a short space of time. I work in Meadowhall shopping centre near...

Re: Downtime 2015

Was on park yesterday and they were struggling to keep everything up and running, just one of those days I guess! Sonic Spinball closed around 10:30am reopening before 11am. Rita was having problems all day, it shut on numerous occasions, they emptied the queue on at least 2 of these occasions as we...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

I was on park yesterday and passed The Smiler around 12:45pm, it was testing at this point, however I could only see 1 car on the track as I wasn't in X Sector I was at the Sales booth just outside, I saw the car go over the vertical lift and round the circuit into the breaks. This was the only test...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Could the red light on The Marmaliser be from where they've been testing the screens after the parks closed or before the parks opened and not switched it off properly, simply cutting the video from the screen?

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

The Smiler will be closed tomorrow, quite simply ask them on twitter :lol http://i.imgur.com/Qgs5Eti.png I don't know whether this will work or not? When SAW reopened they continued to say they did not know when it will open, even on the day it did open (as it opened lat afternoon). It wouldn't sur...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Ride close is at 4.30pm today, so it's probably just gone down with a technical issue and they've decided to close it for the day. I would expect them to wait until guests have left to make any visible progress on preparing the ride to actually open anyway. Very true, although maybe closing Oblivio...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Just a little fun speculation (nothing wrong with that), it's highly likely to be just technical problems but no sign as of yet on Twitter (will keep checking)! But Oblivion has closed at 4pm, conveniently an hour before park closes?! Are they closing to allow extra time to prep X-Sector by placing ...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

So just come across this tweet on Twitter, they reply with the standard response as of late; stating that they're taking the 'necessary steps' first, however what they say next is quite interesting and hints that it may open tomorrow as he is asking whether it'll operate tomorrow and they don't say ...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Although there was no way they wouldn't run the story and their are no limitations in place, I still find it bizarre that The Sun are running the story as their main headline, considering their close relationship with Alton Towers and Merlin as a whole, with them being a major selling point for buyi...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Not sure if this video has been published but here's a new angle of the scene just after the accident! The trains are still rocking backwards and forwards and quite high speeds so much of been only seconds after the accident! If you pause the video carefully you can see the sheer difference in the g...

I've got a question! Is anyone able to post a fairly detailed description of the opening and closing procedures? Always been very interested! :)

Re: Alton Towers Trip - 08/04/2015

Your trip seems to have been a nightmare. I understand all rides are subject to availability but going from your report that is simply unacceptable. I've never found DF staff to be helpful or pleasant tbh, nothing personal against them I'm sure they are all lovely but they clearly don't care. I kno...

Thanks Emporium! I know, Thirteen is suffering badly and by the looks of things what happened yesterday at AT seems to be happening again, multiple rides down and lots of complaining!

Re: Downtime 2015

It seemed a rather big problem while i was on park yesterday, they had a crane out on the lift hill and the ride entrance and exit were physically closed off, however I believe they'll be wanting to get it open as soon as possible and it'll be a matter of hours/days instead of a week, you should be ...

Alton Towers Trip - 08/04/2015

So I visited Alton Towers with my family yesterday and had a good day however it was pretty disastrous at times if I'm honest, which is sad but was somewhat inevitable to happen with the amount of times I've been, however I was very disappointed with the resort as although I have an MAP, my family d...

Re: Thorpe Park - New Indoor Attraction 2016

I think Jack the ripper is too sinister anyway, it was just a thought. With the nature of Jack the ripper and who is victims were, i don't think its appropriate to be put into a family theme park. Especially with this being a dark ride with possibly a low height restriction, therefore allowing youn...
