Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

Calling it now, it'll be a Scarefest maze centred around entering an abandoned Phalanx base. At least they're doing something productive with the building whatever it turns out to be.

Re: SW8 Speculation and Discussion

I guarantee that the vast majority of the public will read the name and immeditaely think about the goddam awful Nic Cage film and not the actual ancient practise of what a wicker man is. Alton may have shot themselves in the foot but I do like the logo. Just worried the GP will be confused and misl...

Re: Towers Loving Care

No, 13's soundtrack was not created by IMAscore. If it was it would be listed on IMAscores portfolio, and Candy Holland wouldn't have said The Smiler was their first project with the company. I believe it was created by Pit Stop Productions but I'm not too sure. You would be correct. https://soundc...

Re: SW8

Cannot wait to see what Alton have up their sleeves.
Personally I would love to see an Aqua Trax; with an initial dark ride section and then the site area provides some excellent opportunities for sweeping drops across the landscape.
Time will tell...

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

Bad move on Alton's behalf. I agree with shutting the rides, they are doing a good job of sprucing up the whole place and bringing the magic back. But having prices over £50?! IMO they should have lowered entry this season and boosted it back up next year when things are back open. Of course the pub...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IASj7qvCjg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This video by TPR shows the new Dare Devil Dive which is opening this season with the VR technology so we'll be seeing something similar. The VR seems to respond pretty well to head movements but i'm not too k...

Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

Looks like the VR competition is coming in thick and fast. Six Flags have just announced today they'll be adding VR to 9 of their coasters for this season, using the Samsung Gear VR. - Shock Wave at Six Flags Over Texas - Dare Devil Dive at Six Flags Over Georgia - The New Revolution at Six Flags Ma...

Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

I don't know about anyone else, but this whole VR thing just infuriates me. Why should a company have to resort to virtual technology to spruce up a ride? Yes it breathes a new lease of life but it defeats the whole purpose of a rollercoaster. People are going to be too busy paying attention to what...

Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

As good as it is that Alton is giving Air a new lease of life, I don't believe this was the best way to do it. My money's on that within the year, people just ride without the headset. Also, Alton have said they're going to clean the headsets after every ride yet still maintain throughput, will be i...

Re: Thorpe Park - New Indoor Attraction 2016

I'm betting all my money that it's a Vekoma d-Ride. It's dimensions are similar to those given, it's never been built before so it'd be the first of its kind, and it also fits the family market that Thorpe look to be aiming towards. I'd be surprised if I didn't end up being something like this, it j...

Re: Thorpe Park - Next Coaster 2016?

So Thorpe posted this graphic on Facebook today while advertising their annual pass offer: http://i62.tinypic.com/8z1c81.jpg You'll see on the right of the image is a Vekoma Stingray and what looks to be a hyper coaster on the left in the background! Now either this is Thorpe trying to make their 'i...

Re: CBeebies Land 2014 - General Discussion

Caught a glimpse of the new Squirrel Nutty ride cars yesterday. Not sure if they've been posted yet but here's a picture, http://i60.tinypic.com/2wpqeiv.jpg I only had my phone with me so I apologise for the bad quality. You can just about make them out; mainly blue with a white roof and yellow back.

Re: what type of major flat would you like to see next?

The only trouble with these rides is, well... how high they go! http://www.veniceclayartists.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/409008_4283465563105_336565.jpg This ride couldn't go in any current flat ride location, there isn't enough ground space. Alton would have to dig down and create a large flat p...

Thorpe posted this on their facebook page the other day: "Seen the new ‎#Superman film, Man of Steel? Well check out the RIDE OF STEEL in Six Flags!" https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/1044514_10151720473465867_1230191798_n.jpg Now surely, this must be a hint at a new c...
