Re: Th13teen - General Discussion

They did indeed open Th13teen today. The last 3 rows are filled with water dummies with the remaining rows filled with guests (with rows left empty to accommodate for distancing). This has taken a toll on the throughput capacity but still a ride that'll take a portion of the crowd on park. I believe...

Re: #AltonTowersMagic

Originally opening as the world's longest log flume, and later sailing past model dinosaurs, The Flume was one of @Alton Towers' most popular attractions. In 2004, the ride was re-imagined as a funky, floaty bath time ride featuring quirky, quacking ducks, culminating in a spectacular splashdown ove...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Yesterday I was able to make a trip to Towers for a gardens visit. A lot has been covered already but I'll go through how I felt and my own personal experience with how things went. When the park opened there was just me and 2 groups in front in the queue, the temperature check was very simple, easy...

Re: The World of David Walliams - *Delayed until 2021*

Ultimately this was the correct decision for the park, you don't want your latest attraction open when it'll only be accessible to a certain amount of people until social distancing and restrictions have been eased. Its a great shame as being Towers's 40th anniversary it is certainly a dampener, but...

Re: #AltonTowersMagic

Can you handle Enterprise? First opening in 1984 at the Resort, Enterprise takes guests on a gravity defying ride of being spun head over heels. Those brave enough are subjected to being hurled upside down at dizzying speeds in a test of endurance. Do you take time to ride Enterprise whilst visiting...

Re: #AltonTowersMagic

Prepare for the wettest challenge around with Battle Galleons!  Opening in 2008 alongside the re-themed area of Mutiny Bay, this MACK Rides splash battle invites guests to fight fellow pirates and landlubbers alike in a seriously wet war. Those brave enough to battle must first survive the treachero...

Re: #AltonTowersMagic

Prepare for a ride on The Blade! Opening in 1980, this swinging boat ride still stands as the oldest attraction at Alton Towers. Originally located in Fantasy World (now X Sector), it can now be found in Forbidden Valley situated on the old Thunder Looper site. During the 2018/19 closed season, the ...

Journey beyond and board Galactica. In July 2015, applications were submitted to modify Air's existing station and queue line, along with the addition of a themed portal that the coaster would travel through. The inclusion of VR would last until the 2019 season when it was removed due to declining p...

Re: Th13teen - General Discussion

Anyone think Thirteen is one of the worst rides in the park?  Personally no, it is a good family coaster and fills the gap of coasters for that market. It may have been advertised badly when it first opened but it does its job of being a decent capacity ride whilst also offering something different...

Re: #AltonTowersMagic

In 2018, the resort would open the latest in the Secret Weapon series of rides - Wicker Man. Built on the site of The Flume, Wicker Man was the first wooden rollercoaster to be built in the UK in 21 years. Guests were invited to join the Beornen's ritual and feed the flames on a rollercoaster combin...

Re: #AltonTowersMagic

In 2016, the Rollercoaster Restaurant brought a decidedly Alton Towers twist to Resort dining. Unique for the UK, meals were delivered via a mini rollercoaster track, with two tables having their meals go via a loop. Designed as a social experience in mind, the restaurant remains a lively and exciti...

Re: #AltonTowersMagic

The 2008 season saw the arrival of some swashbuckling pirates at the Resort in what would become one of the best loved shows in the theme park - The Pirates Of Mutiny Bay. Spanning over 8 years and under several different storylines, guests were greeted to a swashbuckling adventure in the Courtyard ...

Re: #AltonTowersMagic

What started as a trickle became a spring. In 2003 the Paradise Plumbers invited hotel guests to enjoy a wacky afternoon at the Alton Towers Waterpark, which opened alongside Splash Landings Hotel. Previously named Cariba Creek, the secondary attraction perfectly complemented the theme park's offeri...

Re: #AltonTowersMagic

Opening in 1996, The Alton Towers Hotel marked the first of the Resort’s accommodation offerings, enabling guests to stay overnight at the Resort for the very first time. Themed around the adventures of Sir Algenon, the Resort’s first hotel offered a range of themed rooms, which have been updated mu...
