Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

if it was real, I presume they'd spell 'sought' correctly, rather than 'sort'

maybe this is my mistake, but I don't tend to put a lot of thought into it. Usually shorts, top, and my leather jacket with vans or something

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

The thing i'm thinking is, I can see a 4d Element happening as advertising it as the worlds first 4D coaster sounds really appealing to the GP and kind of futuristic. BUT, how on earth will these effects be used while the train is moving? (ie: past the tickler...) I think the Worlds First will be a...

Re: Alton Towers Live: Saturday 6th July 2013

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

That particular article we were given express permission to post Other than extreme rare cases like that, nothing from The Pulse is to be revealed. It's that simple. It just seems a bit inconsistent that they are very strict about it being for employees only, and then they go and allow an article t...

I don't mind the actual meat content, my only concern is that the meat hasn't been sold at a standard expected.

I know it probably isn't "the" worlds first but is this the first roller coaster to have its own game?

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I may be speaking out of turn, but can people who 'may-or-may-not' know things about the ride just keep it to themselves? Teasing people on here isn't productive for anyone really unless you have anything seriously of interest to say. Obviously it's an exciting time and everyone wants a piece of the...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Anyone seen the planning applications for the Marmaliser? On the elavation drawing the sphere shaped body of the spider is labeled as being covered in LED screens. Any ideas what they'll be used for? http://publicaccess.staffsmoorlands.gov.uk/publicaccess/tdc/DcApplication/application_detailview.as...

It really is huge, I was quite taken aback by how massive it is

Does anyone know when the theming will be put up? And is the van featured in an update in December/January time moved?

I assume after track construction, and judging by the sudden speed of this, I wouldn't think it would be too long in the future.

Re: The Smiler - Other Discussion

In Company Magazine this month (http://www.company.co.uk/) is a feature on cool boyfriends. Featured is ride designer Ben Dowson. Pretty standard piece, talking about Merlin attractions, but the 'girlfriend bragging rights' section is all about the Smiler. I don't have a scanner at my house so I jus...
