Re: New to the forum? Introduce yourself here!

Welcome to the forum.   Hope you get to visit Alton Towers, do check out the opening times as they are only open certain days off season. I recommend riding Nemesis front row, but other may disagree and say back row, but do try both. Do let us know how the UK parks compare to the USA.  I've never be...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

I find the Smiler disorientating in the dark.  Front row Rita is good in the dark too, but not worth the extra wait if there is a bit of a queue for the front row

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

Save the dark rides (indoor attractions) for day time.

Rollercoasters in the dark are awesome, they seem faster in the dark. Wicker Man looks awesome in the dark.  I would suggest to get on as many rollerocoaster after dark as possible. They are all good in the dark.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

I'm glad you had a great day.  I'm not surprised that there was a queue at 10.30.  1 and a half hours to get into the park?  :O Yes this time of the season is going to be busy.  April to end of June mid week are usually the best time to visit.  Getting there early is usually the key on busy days. Ye...

Re: Funny Things You've Overheard at Parks

Overheard in the Swarm station: “Yes, we get to go at the back! It goes faster at the back!” This isn’t all that much of a funny thing to hear.  It’s widely known that the back of a train experiences more of a pull and gives a completely different ride experience to the front. If you were to ride W...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Weather don't look too bad for Wednesday, 30% chance of light rain which might put people off going. Just make sure you are dressed for the weather and remember the weather is a forecast and not a promise.  Fast track might work better on the school trip days as oppose to the weekend and holidays, a...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Schools in England actually start on the 15th July, Wales the week after (22nd) according to here https://www.skyparksecure.com/blog/check-dates-for-uk-school-holidays/  Only some schools will break up on the 15th of July, but not many .   School holidays varies depending on the individual school a...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

The kids will still be at school on the 15th July, however you will have hit the prime School trip season which will be busier than the summer holidays.  I personally would avoid. If you are talking about the 15th August, then it will be busy but will be better than the prime school trip season. Pe...

Re: Colossus

Help, nervous coaster enthusiast! Hello everyone, my name is George and I am terrified of riding Colossus. I have ridden every other coaster in the park multiple times and have not found an issue, but I'm terrified of being sick on Colossus. I am severely emetophobic, which means I am essentially t...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Sorry I can't answer this for you.  Have you thought about asking Alton on their Facebook page or twitter?  You could also PM them too via Facebook or send them an email instead of paying out premium price phone call.  Plus this way you'll have it in writing if they argue it, I would also print off ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I was on park yesterday and notice that our named bricks at the entrance looks better.  I don't know if they just gave them a clean or they have added gold and purple colour paint to the engraving, they are very much more readable compared to the start of the season   :)

Re: Visiting early June

I think that you will be all right with all three dates in June, especially the Monday and Tuesday.  If I was to doing a three day visit, I tend to start in a different area on different days.  Obviously, I will go and do the rides that are available for ERT if you are in before the park opens to th...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

I'm actually visiting next Saturday,  but I'll only go in the SeaLife centre as I have my pass. To be fair, it isn't a bad SeaLife, but it's probably one of the oldest and now smallest! I can remember a time when they had fish in the window and water used to splash up the glass. When the Pleasure B...
