Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

I think the accident and now the news coming out is just the start of what will end up being a very long drawn out public ordeal. The publics perception of Alton and the smiler from this point on is likely to get worse and worse. This isn't a a story that's going to be gone and forgotten about anyti...

Re: Top Air Time Rides

El toro, the air time is that extreme you feel as though you are going to get ripped out of the seat...the first few rides I found it a little unpleasant if I'm being honest but after you get used to it, it's amazing.  Also nitro in the same park has air time better than anything in the UK.&nbs...

Re: Intamin Mega-Lite: Perfect coaster for the UK?

Agree completely, I've always thought Oakwood should get a Mega-Lite, seen as they can't afford a B&M or any other more-expensive coaster. I don't think mega lites are exactly cheap these days either, Intamin has grown into a company which is now probably on par with B&M in terms of enginee...

Re: The UK's next B&M?

Having rid the likes of Mantis and Riddlers Revenge I pray to god the next B&M is not going to be a standup, cause even B&M cant make those things comfortable, you still bang your head on the restraints over and over. I'm finding it hard to think the UK may get another B&M for quite some...

Re: Best Rollercoaster in the world?

I've been rather fortunate to of travelled around many parts of Europe, the US and East Asia and ride some coasters, for me i305 is just miles ahead of Millennium Force...as much as I like MF, I found it to be maybe a little overrated. However best coaster I've ridden....I'd have to say El Toro, fol...

Re: Chinese B&M flyer. Pretty awesome!

Got to say that looks to be the best B&M flyer yet, I've been lucky enough to ride tatsu which I thought was incredible and this looks much better, although I've always liked the layout of crystal wings too.

I'm surprised cedar point haven't went with one of these yet.

Re: Should the thunder looper return?

Definitely not, I remember riding this back when I was very young on my first ever trip to the towers, I don't remember thinking it was anything amazing then and I definitely don't think my opinion will of changed much in the last 20 years or so since I rid it.

Re: Six Flags Magic Mountain

Hey thought I'd give you a little advice on this one. As somebody else mentioned if you intend to spend a couple of days at this park then I wouldn't commute out to it from central LA the drive is about 2 hours and it's literally in the middle of nowhere.  There are hotels/motels nearby which a...

Re: Dragster vs Ka - which is better?

You definitely notice the bunny hop on Ka, more so than on Stealth say, but I don't think it's really a deal breaker. Ka was fun, but I didn't even consider it to be the best ride in the park (I preferred both Nitro and El Toro) and I even found it slightly underwhelming. While it goes faster than ...

Kingda Ka imo, I think people are forgetting the bunny hump here.

Have you even been on it?? Trust me there is little to zero air time on that hill, it changes nothing to the ride.

Re: Dragster vs Ka - which is better?

I've been on both, and although the differences are small I'd have to say dragster is better simply because of the restraints.

Re: So has The Smiler topped Nemesis?

Considering the smiler is new and exciting to everyone this is a bit of a stupid poll, give the smiler a year or 2 then see what people think, cause there is no way it's going to depreciate like a B&M does.

Re: The Smiler

^trolling I bet No not trolling at all, don't get me wrong I enjoyed it, it's a good coaster and exactly what AT needed after Rita and thirteen, but I don't rate it as world class coaster, certainly close to the best in the uk and up in possibly the top 10 in Europe but on a world stage it's just o...

Re: The Smiler

Well having no ridden the smiler 4 times I've decided to throw my review into the pot and would like to think it has some weight to it as I'm not only comparing the smiler to coasters in AT or the UK but I've been lucky enough to have travelled all around the globe riding all the top rated coasters ...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Been out of the country the last 2 weeks and came back to see all the construction and now pov videos, also a shame to hear about the opening delay but these things happen. My big question is what happened to the 'secret element' on the ride?? I've watched full pov vids now and it seems all inversio...

Re: Oblivion, SheiKra or, heres the twist, Griffon?

I've been on sheikra, blivvy and krake and have to agree with others that as a coaster overall there is no doubt in my mind that sheikra is by far the better, however oblivion has a better first drop, although id love to give G5 a ride to compare against oblivion, I think something about G5's tunnel...

Re: 04/10/12 On the park

I thought today was pretty busy tbh, I'm currently in a travel lodge before I travel back home tomorrow. Queue times for Rita and air were around 50 mins all day, nemesis and oblivion settled down to around 20 mins later in the afternoon and thirteen was a fairly constant 30 min queue all day. ...

Re: Special attractions

I was diagnosed with GAD when I was 24, Im not sure if rollercoasters got me through the dark times but getting outside and around other people is a healthy step in the right direction.  Just hang in there, follow your doctors advice and you can get through it...I did :)

Re: Gate Keeper - New Cedar Point wing-walker .

Hmmm it looks good I suppose, I'm sure it will kick ass but often I look at b&m coasters and can't help but yawn at the cookie cutter element order they use over and over...I really wish a park would ask them to push boundaries like intamin have done In recent years.  I'm going back to CP n...
