Re: Oblivion comparison

The only ride in the park comparable to it is falling off the skyride above the Valley. Just see if they can pluck up the courage. Little harsh. But... It's a little sick for any person to compare it as there is literally nothing like it in the world of coasters I was simply suggesting it is a huge...

Re: Fear of Flying

And remember, these things are designed to land and take off in conditions that never exist anywhere near Florida or the UK, and the people who fly them are prepared for anything. Including landing 747's in near impossible conditions with no power safely. Which has never happened.

Re: Fear of Flying

Clue yourself up on what the safety systems are on modern aircraft, I find that researching something helps you understand rather than just winging it.(pun intended) :)

Re: Official Oakwood Thread!

A good family coaster, Treetops is nice and all but not enough. And some good flats to enhance the Bounce/Speed/Megafobia selection.

Re: The animatronics problem

Disney is not what it was. What is? Have you noticed the recession? I personally prefer BGT, Cheetah Hunt confirmed that in my eyes. But Disney DO NOT leave an attraction 15 years before even PAINTING it!

Re: The animatronics problem

Anamatronics are by their very nature, crap. My point is, Disney DO take care of their rides. Duel was last refurbed '03 and for the most part doesn't work. Splash, '92. Doesn't look a day over '08. Of course some things won't work all the time, there are so many things going on. Also, Disney has 4 ...

Re: Ride designer John Wardley to retire

Unfortunate as it is, new talent and a fresh perspective on things is needed in all industries. John has been different in the fact he has moved WITH the industry, not against it nor has he followed the rest. There is talent out there with these ideals, and if one can worm their way into Merlin then...

Re: Thorpe Park 2013: Possible Ride Discussion

What kind of bud were they smoking when they thought of this? Sounds like an idea I had on the toke a while ago... And upon reflection realised what a waste of money it would be... Think about the morning after, Thorpe.

Re: Alton Towers Brand New Second Theme Park?

I have said for a while a second park could be economically successful if done right. Major rides would not be implemented until the viability is sure. So if done right, yes. If done all guns a blazin as suggested then no, it would be a huge debt and culture shock.

Re: Was th13teen really a failure?

The ultimate thrill ride. Psychoaster. You must be over 12 to ride. We recommend no more than one ride per day. These are some of the claims made about a Zierier Tivoli bolted to a frog hopper. Complete failure.
