Re: Paultons Park

Quiite like the look of that layout, more twisty and less dippy than either the Merlin spinners or the Wild Mouse styles. Should be a fun family coaster. Seemed very short though, wonder if they could do multiple laps.

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Seems like an absolute winner from Universal based on the reviews which all seem glowing. Probably not too big of a shout to say this looks like being the best family coaster in the world. If Disney are to claim back the crown of best themed area, Rise of the Resistance will need to be something imm...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

Looks incredible, far faster than I was expecting. So much happens in such a short amount of time

Re: When Is Immersive TOO Immersive?

I think an easy way of describing how I feel is that I want to be amazed by the sights and sounds, I don't want to roleplay. Wizarding World blew me away with it's theming and you can explore it as much as you like in your own way. If you want to interact more you can buy a wand and activate all the...

Re: Loggers Leap [Retired]

Delays in planning permission for a replacement? Surely whatever happens though, tearing it down has to happen so it's best to do it whilst they can still sell off bits of it rather than everything rusting, rotting and collapsing.

Re: Disneyland Resort

There are already news articles floating around saying how people are buying the stupidly expensive robes then being told they can't wear them in the park.  It seems like they were a bit selective about what they learnt from Universal's Harry Potter lands. I've seen a droid building video and that l...

Re: B&M Discussion

Watercoaster seems the most obvious as it fills a gap in their catalogue.

A standing inverted swinging coaster would be neat though.

Re: Disneyland Resort

Reviews are floating around for smugglers run. General consensus is that the themeing and immersiveness is incredible but the ride itself is massively dependent on what role you get. You have a great time as one of the two pilots but as an engineer or gunner, you have a restricted view and have to c...

Re: Lightwater Valley

That's terrible, was hoping it wouldn't be any worse than needing to wear a sling or cast for a month or two. Critical but stable means there isn't an immediate threat to his life but it'll mean his life was at risk and/or life changing injuries. Here's hoping for a full recovery. Hoping the Health ...

Re: Lightwater Valley

This ride has already had a fatality on it. Could be forced to close after this. Seems the injuries aren't critical though. Minimum height is listed as 1.2m (with an adult) which is slightly above the height of an average 6 year old so I imagine there'll be a lot of investigation on if he was checke...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The park's full of rare and unique rides, do as much as you can, even the rides that seem like they'd be rubbish are fun.

The Alice in Wonderland ride is fun because it's so tacky (and the weird choice of music). Plus it's insanely trippy.

Re: Duel: Retheme, Replace or Remove?

A good way to update the ride would be to add some projection mapping elements. They've already used it on a couple of rides, a ghost train would let them be really creative.

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

The Hagrid coaster looks great, not sure why they did the offride shots in slow motion given how hard it was to actually tell they weren't shot at full speed. Definitely looks like it's going to be a lot milder than Thirteen is. Can't be too long before we get an official announcement of Fantastic W...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

The press releases about the ride hint you're testing webslingers so it could definitely have some unique shooting motion/mechanism. Probably won't revolve around the classic webshooting gesture as that's likely too tricky to perform for guests and hard to detect.

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

Yeah, in California Adventure it's literally around the corner from Midway Mania, could easily be a The Fast and the Furious level flop there. DLP doesn't have Midway Mania so it's not as bad there. It's just a shame when you see stuff like Popcorns Revenge done at parks with a fraction of the budge...

Re: Disneyland Resort Paris

Planning documents have been found for the Spider-man ride. https://twitter.com/OutsidEarsDLP/status/1125076149560803329 As the rumours suggested it's a shooter ride, disappointingly it's a basic Midway Mania clone spent entirely in front of screens. You can't help be disappointed that a major new r...

Re: Walt Disney World - Disney's Hollywood Studios

I feel they started with a good idea, to do it in a classical 1930's Hollywood font. Then the marketing execs stepped in and said they've got to highlight all the IPs are the park and someone spent an hour in photoshop.

Re: London Entertainment Resort - General Discussion

You're hardly going to get the important international visitors for Coronation Street. That said, ITV Studios do have some nice IPs from their subsideries. Big Talk Productions are owned by ITV and are responsible for pretty much all of Edgar Wrights' output (Cornetto Trilogy, Baby Driver, Scott Pil...

I'm really hoping that this ride is something special. Especially as it replaced the Great Movie ride in Hollywood Studios.

Looks, great. Hopefully this will be part of a trend back to the use of physical props over screens.
