Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

Went on Galactica for the first time today, didn't have any thoughts or opinions beforehand and no real idea on what it would feel like and what to expect... All I can say upon hitting the brake run at the end was how overwhelmed with emotions I felt, my brain hadn't fully processed what had just ha...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

Crazy quiet day today, a sunny Sunday and The Smiler was a walk on at one point about 2.30pm! \:D/

Re: Submission's Removal

Submission is a good ride IMO it's just a shame the restraints weren't a better design, the way they just rest across the top of your thigh and thats the only point of contact lead meant pain that over ruled the actual ride experience.  I'm glad its gone, when visiting the park with people who ...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Does anyone now the usual renewal discount throughout the year?
Basically I don't want to renew until April when mine is due, but if the sale price is hugely different then I will do it now...
Thanks

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

So when renewing the pass what do you actually save by doing it in the Sales?

What I can see is a new premium is £125 in the sale and a renewal is £119 including the 40% renewal discount.
But doesn't that 40% apply all year on renewals so it will be £119 no matter when you renew?

Re: Thorpe Park VIP experience

Well obviously the ££££ packages are aimed at the folk who don't need the money and pay for things regardless of cost, I'm sure they will sell a few being so close to London with at the money a capital city has. But for £50 I think the lift hill climb is amazing for us enthusiast lot!! That's the be...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Has The Smiler lost the vibrations since the re-open? I was there last night and it sounded remarkably quiet with none of that wheel noise anymore! I didn't go on it for fear of a headache and/or death but just noticed it sounded more healthy...?

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

It was 6pm like I said, throwing someone out would be pretty pointless at this time hence them asking to delete it. Maybe it would be different earlier in the day and they opt for the kick you out option. I don't see why anyone who was confronted would start an argument, it's a video of a ride that ...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

What she said. I guess that they can impose whatever rules they like, private land can do what you like. It's wrote all around the park that cameras can't go on rides and if you do you may be asked to leave the park. I thought it was really odd to do what they did, usually they stop the ride and tak...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Just found this full POV, got some good train background noise, handy to figure out where the more 'intense' parts of the ride are....

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

As said, today they were guiding SR through into the correct queue... That said once the last of the SR went through apparently heading up the stairs the staff were quick to walk away and not really keep an eye on the SR's that could have ran back down the stairs and into the normal queue... This wo...

Re: The Smiler

It's not the track being too tight, it's a dodgy manufactured piece. You can see the track just straightens halfway through the inversion. Doubt it was intentional to add 'thrill' but then I don't know why they wouldn't have sorted it before putting it in, it's fairly obvious... Rush job, closed sea...

Re: The Smiler

So today after my first ride last weekend, I headed back to the towers for further correction. SO the queues, I had 3 rides today, all single rider. 1st ride was not long after opening at 11.45. The queue was a bit of a mash of single riders, fastrack and disabled riders from the bottom of the stair...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

The queues today were about the same as last saturday. They were allowing guests to queue down the steps just under the entrance this time so the queue towards the towers wasn't as big. They were running 4 cars again so basically the same. Last weekend the queue stated 3 hours when I joined the main...
