Re: So has The Smiler topped Nemesis?

At this stage, imo, MOST DEFFO! There are G's on Smiler which I didn't think possible. The main things is that it is very smooth. The theming is just EPIC and the inside decor... well I will not spoil it for those who haven't been lucky in getting corrected yet. I really did not think that any coast...

Re: Oblivion safety issue, who to contact.

If I may... *clears throat* On all coasters there is a point where OTSR will have some sort of "visual" safety feature. On Rita, Stealth, Nemesis, Oblivion, Nemesis Inferno, to mention a few, the fabric piece which goes into the clip in the OTSR is just that, visual. It holds NO purpose of...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I think this was the whole thing about not concreting in the supports so that they could be moved slightly; a less that 1% move at the base could mean a 5cm at the top of the support move. I expect to see some concreting over the next few days near the toilets of the supports. This would leave a co...

Re: Thatcher's Funeral

This post should HOPEFULLY get people interested in politics once again. Her political stance and forcefulness caused a lot of discontent during her time as leader of the conservatives and PM. Taking away free milk to the poll tax riots. However, and I will NEVER vote conservative, there was some go...

Re: Roper update

I want to post about some of the history of this case. In 2004, I had heard about this case and set up an online petition to help Alton Towers/Tussauds to show support that we didn’t believe that The Roper’s were being unreasonable with their actions for noise.  This was set up in the September...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

An in depth discussion of how Twitter works is not required in this topic, please try and stay on topic. Thanks :) Excited that we could hopefully see a good portion of the vertical lift getting sorted today, as well as some more themeing on the marmaliser. We also have a member onsite who will be ...

Re: Roper update

Noise assessments were done and the level of noise was considered in the planning application. It's actually quite interesting to see what the noise assessment was based on and where the points of the nose tests were done in the planning application. The noise assessment report can be found http://...

Re: Alton Towers - Winged Coaster?

IMO I would quite like to see a wing-rider at AT because 'The Swarm' is a great ride and I think AT could do a good job of their own. However, I'm not sure Merlin will want to do this because I don't think they will want similar style rides at both. On top of that if AT does a better job than TP it...

Guys, bear in mind that the plans which your all going off are old before the new modifications were put into the plans. The new version has 12 inversions on the outside, the old ones had 8
