Re: Loggers Leap - Officially Retired

I don’t know if anybody has seen, but on the FAQ on Thorpe website with regards to Loggers it states that this area is now part of their long term development plan. Technically any area of the Resort could be considered possible for development in the long term. The fact they can't hint at anything...

Re: Project 2020

Well I mean reportedly DBGT cost up to £31,000,000 overall and the time difference between The Swarm and DBGT is 4 years so if they can make that money in that time then 2016-2020 is just the right time frame to be able to afford something big like a B&M hyper/ giga coaster! Maybe a B&M gig...

I did notice today that the page teasing 2019 has been removed from their website, which you would only expect them to do after announcing any additions, if they had anything of note to reveal...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

If the primary reason to close Twirling Toadstool was to refurbish it (as the TLC justification suggested), then you would have expected things to have been agreed and in place ahead of its closure, so the ‘turned out it was too expensive’ excuse for not reopening it wouldn’t be valid. What seems mo...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

As just posted on TowersTimes social media, it looks as though the fates of Nemesis Sub-Terra and Twirling Toadstool are finally sealed, with the removal of their pages from the Resort's website.

Re: Heide Park

Heide Park have also updated their website, which has an additional visual. While it's good to see that Merlin know when they've hit upon a good concept, I feel as though practically replicating it cheapens it in some way. https://www.heide-park.de/fileadmin/_processed_/e/0/csm_Landing_concept_Head...

Something else to suggest more extensive work than usual being done to The Blade? One batch of steel work ready for work on the Alton Towers pirate ship. https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/51513533_2199553176777201_1898797040037527552_n.jpg?_nc_cat=106&_nc_ht=scontent-lhr3-1.xx&o...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

In addition to premium season pass holders, I'm assuming MAP holders will also get free entry to the Dungeon? And does anyone have an idea as to how the pre-booking will work? Alton Towers have stated on social media today that "entry is not included in the Merlin Annual Pass", although i...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Looking at hotel availability, opening times of the Waterpark and Extraordinary Golf, and the availability of restaurant reservations, it seems the entire Resort will close between 7th and 24th January 2019. Although this is usually the sort of period that the Waterpark closes for its annual mainten...
