You're right - hypnosis is a rather complex procedure, and at any rate impossible at such speed and adrenaline level. :P

Make of that what you will.

Surely not! If they keep up construction at this rate, I doubt it, but you never know... :?

I thought that they were working last season.... Isn't it just a matter or public demand as to whether both run or not?

How accurate would you say the recreation is compared to the actual thing?

Somewhat. ;) Of course, some have theorised that certain parts of the outside track could be rolls and not turns, but that is speculation, so we'll have to see.

Might not be the best photo ever, but I'm pleased with it, and it showcases on of my other interests - carnivorous plants. :)

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

The numbers in 53173 add up to something we have seen already. 7+3+4=14 then there is 5. Remember that camera thing? yeah 14 and 5 we're the numbers the there What was that again? The 5 14 thing? It was on the "It's coming" promo shot of the half erected cobra/batwing inversions. It said ...

Re: Would Oblivion be the same without the underground section?

I reckon that Oblivion would be boring if it didn't go underground. The misty abyss makes it so much more terrifying and atmospheric, I think it'd be severly lacking, for want of a better word, soul without the hole. (Plus without the hole, there'd be less oblivion involved, so it'd have to have a d...

Re: What ride's freak you out?

I feel I should also mention: Rita - It's the only ride I've been on every time I've visited AT, but it terrifies me. I try to convince myself that the launch isn't that bad (and when I think about it, it's not), but it's somehow worse than I think every time!  Oblivion - I went with a ...

Unfortunately, I haven't been to many theme parks, so I'm having to base this on my 'Towers experience... therefore, as Nemmy and Air are my two faves, my votes have to be suspended and flying...

Re: Your Very First Rollercoaster!

I think mine was either the Big Dipper, or the Grand National, both of Blackpool Pleasure Beach. I was very little, and was terrified in the queue line of the former, and I don't think I enjoyed the ride too much either... ;) ...As for the Grand National, well let's just say that the lapbars weren't...

Meanwhile, Arsenal (my own team) are still recovering from our usual early-season jitters. Still, 5-2 in the North London Derby isn't bad!

Re: Scariest moments at Alton Towers

My birthday, 2011. I was still something of a coaster coward at the time, and had yet to ride Oblivion. You'd think I'd seen a ghost by my face as I queued, and whilst I'm no screamer on coasters, I sounded genuinely terrified during the drop. But now I know how much fun it is, all I wanna do is go ...

Maybe only two years ago. (Little did I know what I'd been missing out on for the previous 13 years of my life!)
Went on Air, then Rita, and found that I'd gone on a massively busy day - didn't manage anything else!

Hi all, I'm Noah. I will confess that I'm something of a theme park amateur, but I look forward to enhancing my coaster knowledge (and bravery!) on this forum.
