Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

I'd say that the reason why the maintenance building is a lighter wood than the station is because they've used a cheap plywood to cover the maintenance building trusses. The type of wood and frame used in the station tell us that they are most likely going to be visable so you will see the wood tha...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

I'm thinking the new restrictions may be the addition of extra block brakes or more simply just maybe saying that there needs to be an extra block between the trains rather than just one?

Re: Two Smiler trains collide -- BREAKING

This is all so shocking to hear just 2 days after it's second birthday, my thoughts go out to all those on the train involved, on park and everyone else affected by this including all the ride operators and hosts on duty who had to deal with what sounded like such panic. I have every faith that Towe...

Re: Ride maintenance issues 2015

I think it's just down to reduced throughput on off peak days to save a bit of money, like many other coasters on the park they only run limited trains. Nemesis runs one instead of two, Air runs 2 instead of 3. When they run two trains they don't have any need to use the second station.

I cannot see Blade on the map or in the side information boxes however it is still listed on the website... Could this mean that it has been retired? Hmmmm

Re: Enchanted Village - Coming in 2015

I think the shop will just be in a small section of the reception area, a bit like in the hotels. The application shows the location of each play area but not what they contain. They are located in the yellow patches.

Re: 'Islands' coming to Chester Zoo in Spring 2015

A little news article about the project by The Liverpool Echo: http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/whats-on/family-kids-news/chester-zoo-islands-exhibit-opens-8760087 Nothing new but it shows a small time lapse of some of the site. It's starting to look like a great investment for the zoo :)

Re: New Ride 2015

I'm not too sure that it could be anything to do with flying fish, they posted a photo of it on facebook on February 3rd in the snow and it looked like all was normal. they'd have to start on a re theme a bit earlier to make sure it's open in time. Thorpe are really confusing me tonight!

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions 2015

I'm pretty sure that most of the toilets if not all of the toilets in the park have separate disabled toilets and baby changing facilities. The main toilets in X-Sector, Fountain Square (near to Dark Forest) and the Gloomy Wood toilets definitely have disabled facilities separate to the normal toile...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach - Project 2015

Blackpool Gazette have written an article about the new Gerstlauer Sky Fly, Skyforce set to open in spring. The article is a bit of an update on construction and also has some of the ride specifications. This looks like it could be a really great little investment for the park. http://www.blackpoolg...

Chester Zoo

As some of you may remember, it was announced a while back that Chester Zoo announced that it was building a new experience, the largest of it's kind in Europe estimated to add 1-2 hours to your visit to Chester Zoo. The experienced includes walks over specially crafted bridges from island to island...

Re: Fright Nights

After visiting fright nights for some of saturday and sunday, I can quite honestly say that I am very dissappointed. The queues for everything were over 2 hours each with most of the mazes being around e hours when you asked attendants. They were selling fastracks like hot cakes consequently, all th...

Re: 2014: "Howl-o-ween"

I visited Howl'o'ween on the same day, I was very impressed with how they executed it for families etc. There was a very good atmosphere around the park, even better than fright nights I would say. Haunting in the hollows is good considering it is designed for 8yr olds and upwards and I was also imp...

Re: Sponsor A Scream

And we've finished! Team 1 won by an extremely small margin. Our grand total will be announced in the next week and photos from the fundraiser will be up asap! :) The participants managed to go on Air, then run across the valley to Rita, then to Oblivion, Enterprise and back to Th13teen. They then c...
