Phantasialand Trip

Hi all! I have booked a trip to Phantasialand in June. I was just wondering if anyone had been to Phantasialand before and has experience of the booking process. I understand that you need to do a manual bank transfer to pay for half of the room fee upfront. This seems like a very confusing method, ...

Re: Denmark-Sweden mega trip help

I've actually just come back from a Denmark - Sweden mega trip myself! I went to Liseberg, Tivoli Gardens, Bakken and Legoland Billund, but not Kolmarden unfortunately. Liseberg was probably my favourite park of the trip, Helix and Balder were both absolutely amazing, as was the drop tower Atmospher...

Re: Lightning - Lewa Happy World China

It will be interesting to see what this ride is like when it is built. If it is anything like other Mack rides it should be smooth and have plenty of air time. It is an interesting market for Mack to be entering, I guess we'll have to wait for some european installations before really been able to s...

Europa Park Tips

Hi everybody :)

I was thinking of planning a trip to Europa Park for the first time next year. Having not being before I am still a bit unsure of the best way to travel there from the UK? Any help or tips for travelling and/or the park itself would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Re: Your World First Ideas

It would be awesome if Air could be modified to be a launched flying coaster! If what we see in the original advert (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Mxo5Fi1gYI) could be achieved that would be truly spectacular, especially with the dark tunnel and blue lights. I think it would be near impossible to ...

Re: Things in life that make you go grrrrrr!!

Horses! (especially when they take up the whole road!) Wasps! Cats! Flies! (I think that's the animals out the way :P) Impatient and stupid motorists! (I'm a cyclist) Public transport! All other school children except Post 16's! And finally... Getting put with 4 other people on a carriage on Duel - ...

Re: Helix - Liseberg Opening in 2014

This ride looks absolutely beastly! Seven inversions, two launches and it is 4500 feet long and lasts for 2 minutes! This ride looks to be the definition of a modern day coaster. I can't wait to see it in operation when it opens. I think this is the type of coaster AT should be aiming for next, noth...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

I did Sub-Terra twice on Friday and I'm pretty sure that both times there were at least 3 actors in the maze. There was plenty of screaming going on anyway (from the ladies and the men ;))! I really hope they maintain a high number of staff throughout the attraction because they really boost the exp...

Re: The Future of The Flume

I think if the flume is to go, it's going to have to be replaced by an even better log flume or a water coaster. I don't think they'd replace it with anything else, as lets be honest every theme park has to have a log flume  :P. I'd love to see a really well themed water coaster to fit in with ...

Re: Your World First Ideas

How about a ride that launces you vertically downwards? A launch downwards + gravity would result in some pretty insane speeds  :P I've always thought a launched flying coaster would be good (obviously it wouldn't fit at AT with air already in place). Other than that, I think a launched water ...

Re: Sub Terra Broke!

I went on Sub-Terra twice today (only my 2nd and 3rd rides on it) and I couldn't believe how good it was compared to how I remember it. The whole experience is just brilliant; from the military style actors to the awesome special effects and lighting. Even though the drop may not be that thrilling, ...

Re: February Half Term 2014

Great day at Alton Towers yesterday! - It was nice to see the rotating tunnel working in Duel for once, although I did notice quite a few of the targets were not working / not registering hits and this occurred on all 3 of my rides (not just because I'm bad at aiming ;) ). - The new restraints on Ne...

Re: What's Rita like?

When you get used to Rita it is one of the best rides for the on ride photo. Trying to hold a funny pose for the camera while been launched at 100 kmh is pretty challenging and often results in some funny pictures! Make sure to give it a go when you've been on it a few times

Re: Dark ride ideas

I would like to see a dark ride simulator like the spider man ride and Harry potter ride at universal studios. I know they are expensive and take up a reasonable amount of space but it would be an incredible ride to have at Alton towers! I think the best area for one would be in the dark forest. The...

Re: What's Rita like?

Very short!.....

But seriously it is a really good adrenalin fix. It's a good launch coaster to start with because it's not one of the fastest. So yeah go for it and have fun!  :D

Re: Alton Towers Ride videos

I think Nemesis' is probably the best! It's quite long and it showcases the ride well. It's a bit disappointing that the video for Nemesis: Sub-terra and The Smiler is basically just the TV advert for the two rides, hopefully they'll put a proper video up soon  8)

Re: The Smiler over closed season 13/14

I want them to do something with the outside of the shop, it just looks messy, just having a blatantly obvious yellow sign, and not really making it fit in with the theme of the station very well... :/ I agree with this, I think the shop could do with sprucing up a bit, even a few LED's or an illum...

Re: Strange Eating

Me and my friend are attempting to eat 100 bananas in 12 hours (or as many as possible!) in a couple of weeks. It is going to be very interesting!  8) apparently you can get serious potassium poisoning from over-eating bananas, but what do I know? Good luck and I hope you survive it! :D I am a...
