Re: Merlin to take over Blackpool Pleasure Beach?

Like ilc has said, Blackpool is fine. With the additions of the Big One and Infusion over the past few years the park has grown more popular. If Merlin take over, they best not remove the oldest rides like the Grand National and Big Dipper! Since when was 1994 ''the past few years''? Blackpool are ...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Has there been any down-time at all in the past two weeks? Touch wood it's been running smooth and if the weather holds out should be open tomorrow.

Hopefully anyway, given apparently it has a 0 minute queue atm.

Re: Quick Questions

Secrets of the towers..... I've seen some people talk of a secret tunnel or something of the sort? Where abouts is it and is it accessible? Also, I've never been aware that you're actually allowed up to the top of the towers (if at all you are?), I reckon it'll probably be unavailable given Scarefes...

Re: 2013 Offers, Deals, Vouchers and Discounts

Anyone who's been given free return tickets after complaining had any issues with using them? Complained after travelling up purely for The Smiler and got an email reply stating that I could just turn up with the email reference and my old tickets to get free entry but just wanted to know if anyone ...

Re: Thorpe Park Next Coaster

I am sure, 100% sure in fact, that the amount of comments are from the uneducated people. And regardless, what percentage of the general target audience for Thorpe made such a comment. I would image we are tlaking about 0.00001% of poeple. It doesn't matter if they're uneducated or not, they're sti...

Re: Should Alton Towers stay open until 9pm during the Summer?

For me. Yes. For enthusiasts. Yes. For general public. Doesn't really matter. For Alton. No.

Alton are a business (as Lee above has nailed) and if it's not financially worth them staying open later, then they won't.

Colours of the station should match the track you've put next to it as closely as possible but other than that it's very good.

Re: As an Alton Towers fanboy/fangirl, what comments hurt you the most

Worst for me is when children and teenagers sit on a message board and whinge about members of the general public not knowing the exact statistics and details of each ride at the park.

Wait a minute.

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Absolutely gutted just driven 174 mile for 3day short break with kids to go on smiller thinking that it would have had all the problems fixed by now ,and on arrival at 11.30 am asked at guest service about smiller q times and they said it was closed and will be open later. WhenI down to the ride an...

Re: Best themed Coaster Thorpe VS Alton...

^ Is it really themed though? Sure it's landscaped, has a weird station, and has pink water, but other than that, it's just kinda leafy. Smiler looks well themed, and I have to admit I do quite like Tidal Wave, with all the shops and stuff around it. I would probably say Saw. Swarm comes close, but...

Re: BPB - losing appeal?

cheaper prices won't happen due to the debt the park is in... they had to borrow money to build Wallace & Gromit. Not true, they've lowered their prices this year quite considerably (especially when compared to other parks), although their single-ride pricing structure is awful (Wallace and Gro...

Re: I'm getting worried about Air

Rode it in May for Smilers non-opening day.

Smooth as ever. Boring as ever.

Seriously, it was as smooth as. Well. A smooth thing. Nice kick of force after the rollover onto your back and around, but after that I noticed no bumps or anything like that.

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Frankly baffled that on a gorgeous day like today there's people sat in probably spam-refreshing ride-times and waiting to see if The Smiler is closed so they can post on here and ask about it.

Re: Ride Downtime 2013

Hi all My children and sister were on the back row of the Smiler yesterday when it broke down on the second lift hill.... Now I'm OK with things like this happening but i am not OK with being lied to... I thought my family were in the queue line when the down time occurred so I went through the exi...

Re: Saw The Ride Contract Expiring

Firstly, I can't see them not renewing it given it seems to be the most popular ride on park and the franchising of it clearly has a big pull. Not sure how much longer that may be the case though. Secondly, as said above it wouldn't be a hugely difficult thing to just remove all references to Saw an...
