Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Firstly, welcome to the forum! If it's a 10-4 day chances are the kids will be back at school so will be noticeably quieter anyway.  I've done a 10-4 day before and can comfortably get on everything at least once.  General rule I follow though is work round the park in the opposite direction to the ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I’m pleased that the ride is now open, and that it has a MOJ theme! The only problem with it is that they could have painted it yellow and black, which is the Smiler’s colour scheme. I like the fact it has it's own colour scheme.  It means the ride has it's own identity but also fits into the bigge...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Don't you just love these amateur-ish "news" articles supposedly written by journalists?  They can't even get the basic facts right.  They say it opened in September last year and that it has 6 stories: The rollercoaster opened in September last year. The six-story wooden rollercoaster, wh...

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

I think a Horrible Histories area would fit in well.  You have the Dungeon already based on funny gory history so HH would work well.  Yes it's BBC but not a big well known BBC brand like Doctor Who and many will know the books more than the TV programme.

Re: The Future Of Th13teen

I like the pre drop. It is suppose to give the effect that the floorboards are cracking and giving way, adding to the theme. Yeah I like it too. I've been on it with many first timers and they have said they thought the pre-drop was it, so when the main drop happened it was more of a surprise.  One...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Its quite a magical advert and it even make the pods look kinda cool. I think they should be extremely proud with it. I hadn't noticed the ride constellations at the end until you mentioned it, that's a nice little touch. Call me a geek but ever since the hidden angle poise lamp in the Toy Story 2 ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Alton Towers have revealed their 2019 TV advert this evening, with the focus being the 'power of the towers': EGxdH_6JbbE It does appear that they've adopted a new style when compared to the adverts of recent years, but I quite like the new look. First advert post incident to show The Smiler?  I do...

I wonder what made engineering works overrun?

I suppose all it needs is for a part to be found faulty at the last minute which has to be ordered from the States, needs to be specially made to order or out of stock at a supplier or something.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

I was given a pink priority pass after a Nemesis breakdown. I used it on Wicker Man during my next visit. I wasn't asked to surrender it, can i use it again next time i go? If the ride host didn’t take it off you and you still have it in your possession, yes you can use it again. Priority Passes ar...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Is the Alton Towers Annual Pass (not the season pass) classed as a Merlin AP when it comes to booking hotel accommodation?  I've just gone through the booking process to get prices and on the payment page it says to enter your MAP number and there is no mention of the AT annual pass being valid too....

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

Just watched BGMT on the ITV hub and in that conversation there is no mention of Alton Towers.  David just says "Would you like me to cut you in on royalties on the books?" to which Simon says "Are you serious? Why do you think you got that?"  and David replies "Because I wr...

Re: SW8 Speculation and General Discussion

After seeing the fake fire in The Welcoming maze, I hope we see something like this at 2:56 in the preshow or on the main theming structure (obviously without the launch)

Re: SW8 Construction Discussion

That's just surface rust where the water and moisture has come into contact with the surface, nothing to worry about.  It's exactly the same as when you wash your car and the brake discs go rusty within a few hours of washing it.  You could probably wipe the rust off with your finger.

For those of you who can't wait for ITV to fix that video, here it is.  Apologise for the very quiet audio but you should be able to hear it ok.
