Nope! Actually quite relieved. No back pokers, leg whips or other 4d nonsense. Just a world beating coaster with an incredible layout and a unique theme.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

What a horrible noise those wheels make on the track! Hope its just that they need to "run in" for a bit, otherwise they may want to consider renaming it "The Squeaker".

Re: 2013 Offers, Deals, Vouchers and Discounts

Think somebody said earlier in the thread... Kelloggs frosted wheats and also raisin wheats have a BOGOF token on the pack, not that you'd notice without checking as there is literally NOTHING on the front of the box to suggest it. Look on the back and side of the box though and bam! There it is! :)

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Just been thinking, if we have ostr's there is a much better chance of having floorless models. If you had lap bars, the only way you would get floorless trains is if you had swarm or rita type restraints. I still think floorless trains are unlikely as the station platform doesn't appear to have th...

Re: Minimum operating temperature for the rides?

A couple of years ago, I went to Florida and they wouldn't run Manta for a while, until it got warmer, but it really wasn't that cold... So I was wondering, do they make English rides in colder conditions work better in the cold. I think that's just parks in the US being overly cautious. Never been...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Yes i totally agree but I was expecting something as big as thirteens drop not most inversions its a bit boring beacuse the record will probbaly be broken very soon with new roller coasters coming along :D Its a fair point but I think if you look at colossus at TP. That still holds the record until...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

14 inversions can be described as both world beating and a worlds first. There may however be some 4D effects that AT try to market as a worlds first but to me that would seem a bit naff. I'm not against the idea of 4D effects, I just think that the record number of inversions is far more significan...

(facepalm) It will be a worlds first.... The worlds first 14 (maybe more) inversion rollercoaster! Is that such a difficult concept to grasp?

Not to say there won't be other aspects of the ride we don't yet know about... ;)

JW said there will be 2 lift hills. Nothing to confirm that they will be chain lifts as far as I'm aware.

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I seriously just hope that, whatever secrets this ride holds, that there's nothing too gimmicky in terms of 4d effects or secret elements, to the point where it might actually detract from what promises to be an amazing rollercoaster. Like if any part of the marmalisation process could potentially m...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I honestly think (all tho I hope not) they will play the whole mental effect card as the worlds first! the first coaster with 5 mental effects! that effects you mentally and physically blah blah blah!! and the beating is the inversion record! I hope not but I can see it coming I can see it being; '...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

this roller coaster seems to get more and more complex as it goes along I agree with that. It seems like every time we thing we've pretty much got it figured, something comes along and makes us question what we thought we knew. My brain hurts a little. Maybe this is part of the marmalisation proces...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Maybe the Secret Element is the track and cylinder around the track rotating but not in the way the washing machine has been described, maybe the track has a twist (inline or heartline) and the cylinder rotates at the same time. Think about that cylinder that rotates round the track on Duel but ins...

Nothing has been confirmed re launch or chain lifts as far as I know. The smart money seems to be on a launch up the first lift at least.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.
