Re: My idea for RITA replacement (sequel ride)

I think with Rita being 8 years (approx) old then alton wouldn't dream of changing the track... However they could change the car making it a whole new experience - e.g. Wing-rider, standup, lie down (bit like air), or just backwards, maybe even uk first 4D coaster - make it a SW by having a new st...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

After hearing a few reviews it looks like TS is trying to fight Nemesis off the top spot. Just a quick question about TS links.
How many references are there to MOJ and especially Dr. Kelman around the ride area?
Were there any links to the Sanctuary or the Marmalisation video in the sanctuary?
Thanks

Wow. What time of day did you start to queue roughly?
Did the single rider/ disabled queue open during the day?

Re: Interactive Queue's

With spinball the problem is the entertainment doesn't move with you and half of it is broken now anyway ... Also I'm more in favour of talking and watching the ride than in que entertainment. In America especially Harry potter world forbidden journey they do it extremely well by having detailed the...

Re: Interactive Queue's

This is an awesome idea just in practice I think it would need to much space, maintenance nightmare and noises could get annoying. Then again if you could control effects on board it would be great as every ride would be different. I once thought of a way of having like a track/ conveyor belt throug...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I just don't think soft openings is Alton's style, have they done many in the past for major rides or just had one big one?

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I don't know if anybody knows this, but are they going to pave the queueline or just keep it as a concrete block? I would imagine they would keep it as concrete to give the area a harsh experimental sanctuary style look. Also it will save them money and time. I defo think it will be opening before ...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Who remembers last year, waiting 2 hrs for an unfinished N:ST. I think Alton learnt from that and are doing the right thing delaying the opening until the ride, setting and other features are ready for GP. However, I also think they should have been more prepared and made the decision to not open at...

Re: The Smiler Train Discussion

Leg ticklers on dark rides and 4d cinemas make sense. On rollercoasters they don't. Unless they were used at a part of the ride where it was stationary or moving very slowly otherwise I doubt you'd notice with the speed etc. I don't think that's what it is anyway. Probably something of nothing. Jus...

Re: The Smiler Train Discussion

Complete speculation coming up....  :? After studying the trains briefly you can seen screw holes underneath the seat (mysteriously where leg ticklers would go) along the corrugated metal panel, two holes per each seat. But from a closer you see that the holes are not regularly spaced along the...

Re: The Smiler- Mobile Game Application

Hi Guys... After having a look at the Game advert again, I saw the 'obedience... One of your 5 a day' but I think that section was shown when the coaster was under the marmaliser (5 legged spider) . linking with the 5 elemnts . also at 30 seconds into the trailer it shows different type of inversion...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

What's with the weird angled supports near the ground just above the left-hand digger in the above picture? There's one leaning over to the right and another inverted one attached to the vertical support next to that. The builders are probably just setting up supports for some lower down track and ...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Going back to the "maintenance building" just after the indoor heartline when the train levels out. I've thought wouldn't it be cool to have either, live actors or animitronics similar to the silent hill nurses: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgnZLxqeCLQ The ride is about getting correcte...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Hi guys ... First post on this thread

Anyways, after reading John Wardley's interview on the radio I can see he claimed the ride to be, the most track per sqr metre in the world. Is this therefore the confirmed world-record or am I playing catch up?

Re: What about Hex?

After being on TTF for about a month now, I can see there is much love for Hex. I personally think it is a great addition to the park, one of the only indoor ride's (rainy days  ) I seem to remember reading that the company who run it's speakers, projectors and central core (mad house), have b...

Re: Your World First Ideas

Track jumper-probley will never happen due to health and safety but it would be cool to just launch off the track a land back on the other side I had an idea for this once where basically the train would start with 2 tracks one on top and the other on bottom then during the ride it could make the i...

Re: Best Queue Lines Experiences?

Recently during this years scarefest I went on nemesis 9 times in a row sometimes going on the same car simply because I would get off sprint round to the single rider steps where I would be let onto the same seat row 7 seat 4 . The best part, other people were still stuck queuing for 30 mins just f...

Re: Quick Questions

Hi , just wondering would the premium merlin annual pass give you any benefits other than free entry and early - ride time, regarding fast passes at the park this year, because I have always been a bit unsure on the benefits it gives you?
