Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I was near the front of the queue on opening day, during testing in the hour prior to the ride open, one of the trains *almost* didn't make the batwing.  It was so noticable that there was actually a gasp from everybody around.  The next train round the track didn't slow at all on the same...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Can anyone tell me are those cameras in the back of the seats and if so can you buy the video and how much thanks I thought they looked like cameras, but no there is no option to buy in the shop.  Saw has an LED on the back that presumably indicates the restraints locked, is this the same LED ...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Possibly going on Monday, so fingers crossed it's a quiet day. Maybe someone who's ridden could answer this. I'm quite well built, sometimes need to use the bigger seats on Nemesis and Oblivion. What are ny chances of getting on The Smiler? I hate to put you off but when my step dad rode it he came...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

It's all sounding very promising, don't know whether anyone has specified but how rough would you say some of the last inversions are? Spine shattering or are people just being picky? Its not that spine shattering, i was exaggerating a bit in that earlier post.  Its not as smooth as Swarm for ...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

As MAP holders, will they stop GP entering park / Smiler queue till 10am? Or is it only ERT that the GP miss out on ? If they are allowed to queue at 9 - what's the benefit of MAP/ERT ? Whining I know, but hey .... I know we are going off topic here but ERT is no longer "a perk", yesterda...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Could someone enlighten me, was the reason the queue went all the way out of x sector because they were holding the queue in places? Or because half e actual is still the be opened? Or because the queue was THAT long? The queue was that long, 3 hours at one point!  There is a break in the queu...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Slightly off topic but why at Legoland do they need to employ somebody on the carpark exit gate to take your pass, scan it then pass it back  I am quite capable of waving a barcode around under a barcode scanner. Same at towers but they have to press a button to let you out as presumabl...

Is that big Blue metal fencing still up in adventure land? Can't believe it's taken this long to remove it. Maybe it's the start for new area for 2014.

Re: Your Very First Rollercoaster!

Mine was mini apple at Alton, can anyone remember where it was located in the park?

I can remember it clearly on a corner next to some trees (yes I realise that could be anywhere in the grounds!) but can't quite place it, was it near the current Ice Age cinema?
