Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

I'm really at a loss with this one. I can't even guess why Thorpe would want to go with this type of IP or partnership. It almost seems like they have either forgotten or are chosing to ignore the fact it's the Resort's 40th birthday - something which could have provided a golden opportunity for eve...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

Whilst there is currently only 1 Rollercoaster Restaurant in the UK, the concept isn't exclusive to Alton Towers, they only licence it from Mack. That means other companies could also licence the concept and open a restaurant - in fact I think there are plans to bring one to the new development in B...

Re: Chessington - General Discussion

I'm quite looking forward to seeing what they've done with Room on the Broom. As people have said, they've done good work with the Gruffalo so I am confident this will be completed to a high standard too. Even if it is mainly a walkthrough attraction, as long as they've paced the narrative correctly...

Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

Now that Wicker Man is here, could it be earmarked to be removed around 2022? This would then allow Cbeebies to be expanded for its tenth anniversary.  Wow, that makes me feel old knowing that CBeebies Land is going to be 10 in just 3 years time! Back on the topic of Spinball however, and I think i...

Re: Walibi Holland

Untamed, Walibi Holland's RMC coaster has been topped of in the last few days, meaning the ride has reached its highest point: Is3TyncXUno The ride will also feature the highest number of inversions of any RMC worldwide with a total of 5, although so far we only know what one of those will be. This ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

As much as it isn't really a surprise to see these rides removed from the website, it is incredibly sad and disappointing to seemingly have confirmation of their permanent closure. I think Sub Terra's fate was pretty much sealed the moment a scare maze was allowed to be installed in there - why use ...

Re: Heide Park

As much as it is very much looking similar to Wicker Man, it is good to see that the park are going to some lengths to re-launch the ride and have spent the time and money to fix it and arguably significantly re-theme it. (Although you could argue Merlin should never have let Colossos get into such ...

Re: Carowinds

Carowinds have today given the clearest look yet at the trains for Copperhead Strike via their social media channels . The trains look to be fairly typical for a Mack launch coaster, with the lapbar restaints. I have to say I do like the lead car, it just fits perfectly with the whole theme the park...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Those hours are better than I was expecting. It's good to see fewer closed days in 2019, and that FRIGHT NIGHTS has been given a longer run again. I do think it's the right move to have 10am-8pm openings during summer weekends, it allows for them to make the most of the peak summer periods, but also...

Re: Forbidden Valley Future

If Blade is getting more work than the usual winter maintenance then that suggests the Resort are looking to keep it for at least a few more years. Whilst it may not be the most thriling of rides, it is still a family favourite and the only ride in Forbidden Valley with a lower height restriction. I...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

For me, The Smiler really hasn't aged all that well. It seems to be a little rougher every season, especially that final inversion! The smoothness of your ride also seems to very quit significantly based on which train you get (something which I've never quite understood). I do agree with many of th...

Re: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom

She's back! Following her little fire during the Festival of Fantasy Parade last May, Meleficent has returned to claim her place once more in Magic Kingdon's parade today as reported by Disney Parks Twitter . Maleficent has kept her steampunk style and also had a general refresh as well as a number ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

As reported by TowersTimes Social Media , Alton Towers have confirmed their 2019 theme park admission prices. The only increase is to the adult 'On The Day' ticket which now costs £56 - and increase of £1 on 2018's price. The prices for tickets booked 5+ days in advance remains at £33, and child tic...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

Yeah I thought that might be a little too long for a secondary attraction. I think it works at Warwick because there's nothing to do there. There's loads at towers so an hour out of the day is still a really big impact Actually, there is quite a lot to do at Warwick, especially if you visit in peak...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

I really don't think The Alton Towers Dungeon will have a show time of 90-120 minutes. It's much more likely to be 45 - 50 minutes, the same as the Warwick Castle Dungeon. As Justin mentioned, the Warwick Castle Dungeon works well with their time slot system - being local to Warwick I've done their ...

Re: Phantasialand

RCDB have changed the estimated opening date for FLY to 2020. Whilst there has been nothing official from the park, it is looking less and less likely that FLY and the surrounding area will be ready for 2019. Phantasialand do tend to work to their own timeline and don't commit to an opening date un...

Re: I'm a Celebrity! Get Me Out Of Here

I've only ever done the attraction three times, once on its media night, once later on in its debut season, and then a couple of years later. Whilst it did have very good interior theming, and there was a clear effort to keep the trials up to date and fresh, for me it never quite worked. It also jus...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I totally agree that Wicker Man was absolutely the right choice for the theme park. It's a solid ride which appeals to a wide audience, especially with it having the 1.2 metre height restriction as opposed to a 1.4 metre restriction. The ride really showcases what Merlin can do when they get things ...

LEGOLAND Korea

Merlin Entertaiments have today announced plans to open a new LEGOLAND theme park in South Korea. In a post on their Linked In profile , as well as via a press release on their website , Merlin confirmed that the new park will open by 2022. LEGOLAND Korea will be located one hour east of Seoul on th...

Re: Rita - General Discussion

I have a kind of love/hate relationship with Rita. It was the first ever coaster I did at Alton Towers when I first visited in 2005, and when the coaster was shiny and new! I really enjoyed it then, however as time has gone on that enjoyment has decreased more and more. It just seems to have got rou...
