Re: People smoking outside of designated areas.

Queue line smoking aside, I don't see a problem as long as it's not around children or in crowded places. Pretty much everytime I've been there's been people besides me smoking strolling around the park. It's all very well and good saying tell a staff member but let's be honest, how many people move...

Re: On-Ride Breakdown Experiences

Expedition Everest shortly after it opened. Test Track when my belt didn't work properly. Oh, and The Smiler, on numerous occasions. That's kind of expected now though to be honest, I actually think it adds to the overall ride experience.

The Flume hopefully...it barely constitutes a ride in my opinion.

Re: Anyone ever vomited on or after a ride?

Air. Last ride of the day before they shut the queue lines...I hadn't eaten all day and as a safety freak at the time didn't like the though of being held on my front. Therefore, I clenched my legs all the way round cos in my head I thought I was gonna fall out...when I got off, I felt faint...and c...

Re: Thoughts & Views of the Recent Posting Guidelines

2. Perhaps it's just me being an old git, but it does seem that since The Smiler construction, the standard of the average post has declined considerably. 2-3 years ago this site was full of well travelled enthusiasts posting trip reports from around the globe, avidly discussing new developments wi...

Re: Should Alton Towers stay open until 9pm during the Summer?

No. From a business sense it makes as much sense as building a ride that doesn't work...oh wait. But seriously, no. There's no need for it, it's adding costs where they could spent on other things such as maybe removing the ridiculous 7pm closetime for scarefest at the moment. Making days longer put...

Re: Single Rider Queues

SRQ is boss. Especially for Nemesis...you can literally go out the exit, take a right and your back on it. Due to the size of the trains, statistically you'll always get on pretty damn fast. Enjoy!

That top picture is the release poster for Dead Silence definitely. Though I would have thought that was a bit hardcore for Towers. Nevertheless if it's mannequins I'll be crying like a baby in a corner somewhere.

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

It Keeps breaking Down and a piece of Track came off as you know, But Is it Really dangerous, or just early problems? Not in the slightest, the bolt that fell off I think was caused by the fact that it went from incredibly hot (making the metal expand) to warm (metal then contracts) the track contr...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

To be honest the net seems a bit of an omen in its own right. They obviously knew the ride was going to be down for an extended time, so seized the opportunity to get up there with that net whilst they knew the ride had no chance or returning to operation. That's what I'd say happened anyway. Agree...
