Re: 2014 Scarefest

I thought Doctor Kelman wasn't returning this year, he was certainly there yesterday.

Re: Shambhala - the new love of my life

It's fantastic isn't it ! It went straight to the no1 position of our top ten coaster list for me and my whole family the first time we rode it and after a week of constant re riding the thrill never wore off. The freedom offered by those restraints really does lead to some awesome airtime especiall...

Re: Getting Rides back in the Spotlight

I wasn't saying Nemesis is not a good ride or anything but it is 20 years old and most have ridden it. Adding flames to the ride wouldn't boost riders and therefore would be a waste of money for AT. . Yes, most people have ridden it, so what ? It doesn't mean they won't ride it again, it's still th...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

The Perks machine hasn't been switched on since the start of the season and no one at the gate seemed to know why, and now it's disappeared altogether.
I bet it doesn't make a comeback.

Re: So disappointed with Alton Towers

Why go to the trouble of setting up an account on an Alton Towers fan site just to say you hate the place and will never go back, it seems like a waste of your time ? Alton Towers has its faults of course, and it compares badly even to the top European parks but it's certainly not "Tatty, tacky...

Re: PortAventura trip 9/08/2014

Yes, whatever you do buy the fast passes ! And buy them from the hotel, you get a week's use for the same price of a day pass bought in the park. You'll be amazed at how well the fast track works compared with Alton's system. Oh and it's probably worth buying the 5euro add on that allows one front r...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Usually, I suppose that's true, but I have had a fair few genuine conversations with park staff who actually want to go out of their way to show interest in our opinions. The guy doing the left/right batching on Air the other day held the line for us when he saw our passes and wanted to know how muc...

Re: At what age can you not handle thrill rides anymore?

 I think on my future visits to the Towers I should probably go and have a nice little lie down in the gardens while my kids go on all those horrible nasty rides without me. I need to consider my poor brittle bones and start acting my age (48) a bit more. Riding those scary roller coasters is ...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Well, I haven't regretted buying mine yet, was at the Towers again today with my grown up kids and enjoying not having to rush everywhere just to try and get a few rides in. We can take our time, knowing that we've got a whole year before we need to worry about tackling those endless queues again ! ...

Yup.
That and Furios Baco, a ride I really wanted to like.
Excellent theming, quirky styling, quality loading station and an awesome forceful launch, what is there not to like ?
Well everything that follows the launch, Baco really is a horrible little monkey !

Re: The future of Coaster Corner

I would hate to see that. They are dangerous and simply not fun. The day BPB reduce theirs to fire wood will be a good day for everyone.. Ooh, someone doesn't appreciate one of the finest classic coasters still available to ride today. I agree the Towers would never have another mouse (been there, ...

LOL, why would you want express parking if you were staying in the hotel?

It's obviously so you can get maximum credits on the Monorail shuttling to and from your car every time you need to fetch something to the hotel ! :lol

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

I had another quick visit to the park today after a morning in Splash Landings and have to say I'm still happy with the VIP package and how it's handled by the front line staff at the Towers. Our VIP packages arrived yesterday so my daughter and I decided to wear the lanyards to see if it made a dif...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

I just saw on Twitter that for a week only AT are testing a new ERT which is all of CBeebies land and X-Sector, why is this and what do you think about it? Nooooooo !!!!!!!! I love my Nemesis ERT, dash in through the woodland walk, front row ride before anyone else even gets there, then half an hou...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Is it really that rough though, honestly ? Alton Towers is home to three B&M coasters that provide some of the smoothest rides available in the country, the build quality is obvious to anyone who cares to look and unfortunately every other coaster in the park has to compare to them. I've been on...

The Merlin Annual Pass

I wrote an E mail to the VIP pass team with some of my first impressions of using my pass, good points and bad and received a reply yesterday and wasn't really impressed with it. I did state that I was fully aware the Pass didn't give me instant access to the rides nor did I expect it to but that I ...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

Yup, we were told the same thing on Rita today - use the Fasttrack entrance, at least once the Fasttrack lane was open. Not the end of the world, it's still only 10-15 minutes wait from where the Fasttrack merges, at least we know now. Really appreciated the passes today, the park was rammed with sc...
