Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

To be honest the lifts probably feel worse on Smiler as both of them are not working as intended. With most gerst's the train stops at the bottom of the lift and the chain speeds up to get the catch car in place before slowing down so it gently connects with the train and then speeding back up to t...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

The idea of having VR as a ticketed system could work actually however I would make it free and people who want to ride with VR book a time slot on the app or at the fast track booths or something. Then proceed down the fast track queue or whatever and board.

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Yeah it's a weird one especially because I can't imagine it being any good for the trains or the chain.

Re: Alton Towers - Visitors from abroad?

I'm from the UK but what I would say is that Towers isn't the easiest park to access via public transport and it will involve getting a taxi at some point. The nearest airport is probably East Midlands but it's still a good 40 min drive from there to the park. Hiring a car maybe the better option de...

Does anyone have Galactica's full soundtrack, or at least the in the hall of the mountain king part of the soundtrack.

This isn't the best quality recording of it but as far as I know it's the full soundtrack. The in the hall of the mountain king part is around the 13:40 mark

Re: The Next Themed Area/Area Refurb

I think a Tudor/Victorian themed old English style street would compliment the Dungeons perfectly, if it was up to me that’s probably what I’d go with.  When it opened as Talbot Street that’s exactly the theme it had, a Victorian Street complete with undertaker! I’d like to see some sort of return ...

Re: Ferrari World - Abu Dhabi

Ok I just found this on the internet whilst I was searching for reference images of Aces for a project idea I had but I think this has accidentally leaked some of the track layout for Mission Ferrari. I don't know if this image has surfaced before but I have never saw it.The image is titled projects...

Re: Oblivion - General Discussion

I have a bit of a soft spot for Oblivion. I just wish that they put the original videos back on without the jump cuts and the drop hold time could do with increasing again. It's a short enough ride already without the short drop hold. If you watch it on opening in 98 it holds for a good couple of se...

Re: On-Ride Breakdown Experiences

I don't think I ever posted it on here but earlier this year I got evacuated from Big Thunder at DLP. It stopped on the second lift and so we had the furthest to walk to get off but it was one of the best break down experiences ever. You have to walk along a path across the side of the mountain and ...

Re: ScareMazing 2018 - Reviews & Feedback

It was another great event and I really enjoyed meeting everyone again, I especially enjoyed breaking the Blade and the mazes. Our run through of Sub was particularly intense and perhaps one of the best run through's I've ever had on it.  I had to dash off after The Welcoming as I had booked House o...

Re: Drayton Manor

I didn't even realise that Drayton had a Pirates ride as I went this year for the first time in nearly 10 years, so I've just had a quick look at the POV and damn that is definitely a Pirates of the Caribbean knock off  :lol

Re: Theme Parks and IPs

I was thinking about this the other day and I think that if an IP can be done right it can actually be amazing. Take for example Tower of Terror this obviously uses the Twilight Zone IP but it uses it in such a way that it hasn't become a dated IP, which becomes a major issue for most parks. The rea...

Re: SW9

I'd love to see a new gen Mack Spinner like time traveller or Cobra's Curse for SW9 as it could be well themed and the through put would be insane. You could mix this with decent theming plus a bit of a dark ride section perhaps and think they could be onto a winner. This could also help to fit the ...

Re: Chessington - General Discussion

I went to Chessington yesterday for the first time since I believe 2015 and I wanted to write a little trip report on it. We did have a good day but there was a few problems with Chessington. First I'll start with the positives, the whole Land of the Tiger area is amazing and a really great addition...

Re: Project 42 (Nemesis Sub-Terra) - New for Scarefest 2018

I've been thinking about the pit where the drop towers used to go, and I think that the maze itself may not use it but it could be a break room/costume/make-up area ect for the actors? Especially because, as far as I know, there isn't anywhere to do this around Forbidden Valley as the Scare Zone use...

Re: Duel - General Discussion

I'm really happy with the overall improvements on Duel and I think as a whole they have/are doing a good job. The only thing I would say is that, after talking to some GP friends, they could do with putting a sign up on the main entrance/ doors saying some a long the line of, "A million apologi...

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

I've just read about the whole David Williams IP idea and I can see it working well. Also both David William's books and Roald Dahl's books have very similar illustrations/art styles so it would be realitivly easy to change Charlie into the new IP. Overall this is very interesting development
