Re: The Future Of Th13teen

I like the pre drop. It is suppose to give the effect that the floorboards are cracking and giving way, adding to the theme.

Re: Towers Loving Care

I must agree. Kids will also understand the term 'loops' more compared to inversions :)

Great to see some signs finally back, after nearly 4 years! :)

Re: Towers Loving Care

I couldn't take any photos as it was too dangerous, but Enterprise is currently in pieces behind the ride area in the wooded section between X Sector and the road. When driving past you can see 3 or 4 cages.

The site looks untouched, so it is hard to tell when, or if, it will be back?

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

As seen in the photos above, the torches have also been installed, but they are currently not lit.

Here is a picture that I took today...

Leek Signs have posted some photos of some new signage installed around the car park and accommodation. https://i.imgur.com/4XECfBX.jpg https://i.imgur.com/7yy7A6h.jpg With the above, it is disappointing that the grammar was not picked up by Alton... *Minute/minute *Walk/walk *Vehicles/vehicles. ht...

Re: Black Buccaneer

No doubt it will be used for spares and repairs. After the trouble it had last year, I can't see it returning. I do hope that they get a replacement though as I really enjoyed that ride!

Never heard of any of the featured!

Good to see that they are continuing the MOS style events!

Re: Alton Towers 40th Anniversary in 2020

I really hope not. That merchandise is not the greatest, in my opinion!

Personally, I'd like to see some extended openings till 9pm in the summer months, perhaps with some live entertainment or concerts on the lawns. Something like the summer shows at Warwick, but with the Towers would be nice too!

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I believe they were given another clean. Not sure how, but hopefully not by the same pressure washer used before the season.

Re: Vampire

I think they are in need of another train and another high capacity attraction to be honest. Chessington are moving in the right direction and I like the way that they are refurbishing attractions, but this will only go some way. Apart from Tomb Blaster, they will have to move on to smaller attracti...

It is one of the slowest moving parts of the queue, so I expect you are right with saying it would take a while to clear.

Ouch. I hope they get them all up and running asap. I want to visit again this year as I've not been for years and Haunted House would be my main reason for visiting!

Re: The Swarm

Not surprised to be honest. With it being Easter and one of the hottest weekends so far, then it makes sense to have it open, although it is such a bore queueing in that area as you're tucked away from everything. I'd say that after the weekend has passed it will be closed up again until school seas...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

I do recall vaguely that it was under theme parks before, but I wasn't sure as it is not a website I visit very often. Personally, I don't agree with it being under the theme park category as it sends out the wrong message, but then again, it is only a website category, so it doesn't affect my enjoy...

Re: Merlin General Discussion

February is not a good time to visit Yarmouth. I'm actually visiting next Saturday, but I'll only go in the SeaLife centre as I have my pass. To be fair, it isn't a bad SeaLife, but it's probably one of the oldest and now smallest! I can remember a time when they had fish in the window and water use...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I know it is a small thing, but I am quite disappointed by that sign. It looks like a vinyl overlay, but what niggles me is the border has been cut off, therefore it no longer matches the main entrance sign.

Re: Merlin General Discussion

Was it listed under this before? I have a feeling it did, but in no way should it be classified as a theme park!
