Re: Loggers Leap - Officially Retired

Was a great log flume and it certainly will be missed - but now's an opportunity for the next new coaster to go there and use the woodland to its advantage. As for reasons why it originally closed - any truth to the rumour of it not passing its fire safety inspection way back at the end of 2015 (th...

Re: Pleasurewood Hills

It is because they got such a back lash for removing the ride. At the time, it was beyond repair and I must agree, it was getting old.

It was a nice little ride to be honest!

Re: The Flume

First thing... I love it!
But... I do feel that part of the originally has been lost as the interior has been altered, with a few possible holes drilled into the body to accommodate the motors etc.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Ha. That is a classic! To be honest, they are only saying what we are all thinking! Whilst I love visiting, it is a shame that there is nothing new to shout about this year. I was really hoping that we would have a new coaster to watch being constucted too. This would have created some hype for the ...

Re: The Future of Spinball Whizzer (Cbeebies Land Expansion?)

I can't see it happening to be honest, although Alton Towers did have a Lego store a few years back in Mutiny Bay.

Re: The Future of Spinball Whizzer (Cbeebies Land Expansion?)

I have also considered if Driving School could be relocated to CBeebies Land or another part of the park, but it should most definitely not feature a LegoLand theme. I think Merlin would seriously be pushing it if that was the case. P.s. I've added to the name of this thread cover the possibility of...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I hold a lot of love for The Smiler (even though I am a Wicker Man fan). My biggest issue is how clean it is, as I have mentioned before, but I actually find it fascinating to watch. Dare I say it, I love the theme music too! It is a great ride! :)

Re: Chessington - General Discussion

With Room on the Broom, I think we are on to a safe IP. We can see what they have done with Gruffalo and Shrek, so it will hopefully it will be a quality experience.
We should know more on the preview day, so watch this space :)

Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

Now that Wicker Man is here, could it be earmarked to be removed around 2022? This would then allow CBeebies to be expanded for its tenth anniversary.

It will be interesting to see. If he can secure and allocate funding, Pleasurewood Hills has the potential to become a good little park!

Re: Is the UK theme park industry heading for a bumpy ride?

Hi elliegelsthrorpe, I've filled out the survey for you. Good luck with your studies. It is an interesting topic which I am sure can be discussed further. I don't think we are heading for a bumpy ride just yet, mainly because we have recently seen investment in a number of UK theme parks. Just look ...

Re: Pleasurewood Hills

Ricky Lark, an ex-Merlin employee has taken over as General Manager at Plessurewood Hills. While an unknown name in the industry, he has worked for Alton, Thorpe and a couple of midway attractions. More about appointment can be found here... https://www.lowestoftjournal.co.uk/news/new-general-manage...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I do wonder if CCL will become the SW9 site, but that is a discussion for another day.

I do think we need to see some more flats added to the park. I expect maintenance on The Blade was forced somewhat as they knew another ride couldn't go.

Not a surprise, but quite sad nevertheless.
It does make CCL more redundant than ever before!

Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

I think it is a given and an obvious move. It would be a sensible move commercially, as the Cbeebies brand is ever evolving with new characters. If Spinball was to be removed, would they sell it on or move it to another park? Rumours were rife that it would head to Thorpe Park at one time, although ...

Re: Colossus

This is a picture I took last year of said area... https://i.imgur.com/fsPdjpC.jpg I did initially wonder if it was because of the swans and birds nesting, which we know has caused problems for the ride in the past. It has also been suggested it is down to issues with the supports, and possible sink...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Personally, I don't think the charge is restricting the amount of cars and controlling traffic flow at all. anyone coming in a car usually just deals with the charge. the car parks are just gravel. they shouldn't need a high amount to maintain them. if anything the charge is an issue because of the...

I do enjoy Kobra, but I do agree, the queue times can put you off. Time it right and you can walk straight on or with a short wait :)
