Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

Now that Wicker Man is here, could it be earmarked to be removed around 2022? This would then allow Cbeebies to be expanded for its tenth anniversary.

Re: Pleasurewood Hills

It will be interesting to see. If he can secure and allocate funding, Pleasurewood Hills has the potential to become a good little park!

Re: Is the UK theme park industry heading for a bumpy ride?

Hi elliegelsthrorpe, I've filled out the survey for you. Good luck with your studies. It is an interesting topic which I am sure can be discussed further. I don't think we are heading for a bumpy ride just yet, mainly because we have recently seen investment in a number of UK theme parks. Just look ...

Re: Pleasurewood Hills

Ricky Lark, an ex-Merlin employee has taken over as General Manager at Plessurewood Hills. While an unknown name in the industry, he has worked for Alton, Thorpe and a couple of midway attractions. More about appointment can be found here... https://www.lowestoftjournal.co.uk/news/new-general-manage...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I do wonder if CCL will become the SW9 site, but that is a discussion for another day.

I do think we need to see some more flats added to the park. I expect maintenance on The Blade was forced somewhat as they knew another ride couldn't go.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Not a surprise, but quite sad nevertheless.
It does make CCL more redundant than ever before!

Coffee Shack

Hi all,

Just a quick message to let you all know that Coffee Shack currently remains open, however, we are making a few changes to the forum, and it will be merged with MaGarrita’s in due course.

Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

I think it is a given and an obvious move. It would be a sensible move commercially, as the Cbeebies brand is ever evolving with new characters. If Spinball was to be removed, would they sell it on or move it to another park? Rumours were rife that it would head to Thorpe Park at one time, although ...

Re: Colossus

This is a picture I took last year of said area... https://i.imgur.com/fsPdjpC.jpg I did initially wonder if it was because of the swans and birds nesting, which we know has caused problems for the ride in the past. It has also been suggested it is down to issues with the supports, and possible sink...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Personally, I don't think the charge is restricting the amount of cars and controlling traffic flow at all. anyone coming in a car usually just deals with the charge. the car parks are just gravel. they shouldn't need a high amount to maintain them. if anything the charge is an issue because of the...

Concept images for Colossus have been posted on the park's Instagram page. Let's say is it Wicker Man V2. https://i.imgur.com/519rsGi.jpg A DARK POWER THREATENS TO DESTROY COLOSSUS. I do enjoy Kobra, but I do agree, the queue times can put you off. Time it right and you can walk straight on or with a short wait :)

It always amazes me how they can walk the track with little to hold them on. It must be an awkward job though, unhooking between each strut!

Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

It has been a while since the removal of Spinball was brought up, I'm not sure if it will be removed from the resort for another 3-5 years. Cbeebies opened in 2014, therefore it will only be 5 years old (area theme) this May! As new attractions are still being added within the area, the need for exp...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I'm sure I've seen that complaint about the car park, or one very similar on Facebook. I'm not sure how I feel about the car parking charge as it doesn't really affect me with my MAP. I understand that charges are used to control traffic flow and maintain services, but as Alton isn't really in a bui...

I hope it is a positive thing! In my opinion, some rides need to be neatened up, which will hopefully addresses the ride satisfaction aspect of this presentation.

It looks like effort will be put into Splash and rides. Hopefully, rides like The Smiler will be clean!

I do agree, but realistically, will it be removed? I know the end of year questionnaire could suggest its removal, but if it isn't, then a solution must be found to combat the queuing issue.

Re: Oblivion - General Discussion

I must admit, I also hold a soft spot for Oblivion! I really like the feel of the ride with its orange and black chevrons, however, I really wish they sort out the queueline buildings and give them a clean and retheme inkeeping with the original theme. I also wish they either cover up The Smiler log...
