Re: The Swarm

It was good to see them back on last weekend. Hopefully, they will get the TV screens and audio sorted too as it certainly adds to the area!

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I suppose it is an opportunity to make more from it, especially with VIP ending. Not sure I'd pay for it, but it has been handy, especially when having a buggy with family.

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

As much as I love Doctor Who, I'd hate to see an area based around the series at Alton. It wouldn't feel right for Alton.

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

I wouldn't call it low budget. Having done a lot of Dungeons attractions, it is comparable to a lot of them. London obviously has a lot more, but that is the signature attraction.

Cloud Cuckoo Land is in need of work for sure, but I am sure the Dungeons will no longer form any part of any retheme.

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

I’d like to think The Alton Towers Dungeon won't last beyond 2020 – as in, that will hopefully be it’s last season at the park. Personally, I think it is here to stay for many years to come and I love it. Slightly off the topic, but I also think the demise of House of Monsters is partly due to most...

Re: Loggers Leap [Retired]

Apart from a few boats and perhaps some signs, I can't see what they will auction? It isn't like the Flume where they have ducks to sell. One thing I've never understood is why theming elements from past attractions are not recycled, especially when rides such as Rumba could do with more. Of course ...

Re: Wicker Man - General Discussion

Slight brag here but me and my girlfriend went to AT yesterday and rode Wicker Man solo on front row, just us two in the middle of the day. Safe to say the ride hosts were baffled but such a great experience! Quite believe it. When I was there the other week, they were filling up every other train,...

While it shouldn't have happened, I'm so pleased that only minor injuries were incurred.

They missed 'need' out of that, but it relates to actors around the ride.

Re: Rate the Rollercoasters [2019]

This is actually really hard...

1. Wicker Man
2. The Smiler
3. Oblivion
4. Nemesis
5. Galactica
6. Th13teen
7. Rita
8. Spinball Whizzer
9. Runaway Mine Train
10. Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure

Re: The Future Of Th13teen

I like the pre drop. It is suppose to give the effect that the floorboards are cracking and giving way, adding to the theme.

I must agree. Kids will also understand the term 'loops' more compared to inversions :)

Great to see some signs finally back, after nearly 4 years! :)

Re: Towers Loving Care

I couldn't take any photos as it was too dangerous, but Enterprise is currently in pieces behind the ride area in the wooded section between X Sector and the road. When driving past you can see 3 or 4 cages.

The site looks untouched, so it is hard to tell when, or if, it will be back?

As seen in the photos above, the torches have also been installed, but they are currently not lit.

Here is a picture that I took today...

No doubt it will be used for spares and repairs. After the trouble it had last year, I can't see it returning. I do hope that they get a replacement though as I really enjoyed that ride!

Re: Alton Towers 40th Anniversary in 2020

I really hope not. That merchandise is not the greatest, in my opinion!

Personally, I'd like to see some extended openings till 9pm in the summer months, perhaps with some live entertainment or concerts on the lawns. Something like the summer shows at Warwick, but with the Towers would be nice too!
