Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

It feels more clunky and sounds more clunky to me. I think that might because the change in technology though, maybe something to do with the rollback system. It does feel different for sure though.

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Still my 2nd favourite ride at Towers, it was my favourite for a couple of years but I think that was "new ride hype" if it was smooth, repainted, and looked brand new it would be perfectly fine. Its the rattly seats that make it rough. In fact, what is actually causing the roughness? I've...

Re: Forbidden Valley Future

Looking on Towers Street, the boat where people sit in has gone out of the park too. Is this a case of an almost complete rebuild or something?

It's restraints look a bit like Macks, but in reality the act like a boa constrictor as soon as you hit the lift.

Re: Liseberg

I went 2016 summer, late August. It was a weekend, there was a tiny bit of rain in the morning, it stopped at 12:00 longest I queued was 10 minutes for Liseberg banan. Helix wasn't above five minutes, no one was on Balder and I did all the flats and kanonen (had to wait for more people, RIP to a gen...

Re: Project 2020

If this is planned for a March 2020 opening, it's only 16 months away. If it is a major coaster wouldn't planning permission be due to be sent?

Re: SW9

Could they build a water coaster as a family coaster, but not as a SW? I feel the layouts are very restrictive at the moment, and if it was a secret weapon they could somehow incorporate an option where you don't get wet? (Turn water apart from mid may-end of august)? If i was to throw a bet I'd gue...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

It's downright fun and rerideable, and I love it. best airtime in the UK, best trains, good length, inversions, near misses etc. I can run round again and again. Nemesis is the only other ride in the country I enjoy marathoning really, but towers on a busy day makes it hard, and i hate the fact the ...

Re: On-Ride Breakdown Experiences

I've witnessed Helix go back down the second launch, been stopped on Balder, Nemesis, Oblivion for cameras and been in two boat jams.

I'm pretty sure that was some type of Orange lighting Stan, it was definitely there when I first rode it.

Re: Your Top Ten Coasters

1. Wildfire 2. Helix 3. Icon 4. Nemesis 5. The Smiler 6. Balder 7. The Swarm 8. Stealth 9. Kanonen 10. Lisebergbanan Sure they aren't all the "best coasters" I've ridden some better (Saw, Revolution, Oblivion, Twister (Grona Lund) Jetline and Wickerman could all have easily got that 10th s...

Re: Ryan.B's NL2 Creations

I've now completed the ride, supports are generated and it has can run 4 trains, with 13 airtime hills, and maximum G-Force of 5.05 and a maximum negative G-Force of -1.75, and lateral Gs all under 0.75 comes the first new Intamin prefab in this decade.. Bronco - The wildest coaster in the west! * p...

Re: Ryan.B's NL2 Creations

So, over the past couple of days I've been working on an Intamin prefab. All I need now is honest opinions on the shaping and for me to create the finale. (was thinking a 180 turnaround before a helix and some bunny hills. Thoughts so far? https://i.imgur.com/IR65E6R.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EahiTMZ....

Re: No Limits and Other Software Quick Questions

BUMP! Probably this topics poster of the most questions is back, with another one! :/ is there a guide on how to do recreations anywhere, and what is needed to attempt a recreation 1:1 scale, and also any decent tips? I'm wanting to recreate some custom coasters, "some car park" coasters a...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The park, is great, the promenade is decent enough but the town as a whole is a bit run down in my opinion. don't park in the Pleasure Beach car parks, they're anywhere between 12 and 18 pounds I believe!

Re: Rita - General Discussion

I'm 5"8 and the big one at Blackpool towards the end of the train is a squeeze, as is Colossus, the SLCs tend to get better the taller you are though. The only ride I've had an issue on at Towers was Thirteen. I'm not sure why it is (foot room?) but I can never get comfy on it.

The Football Thread

I've noticed there seems to be no recent football thread on this forum, and with not everyone on the forums being football fans I thought it would be better to start a thread rather than take over the shoutbox. Also a lot of threads are premier league threads, yet a lot of this forum support teams o...

Re: Liseberg

Someone posted an article over on Towers Street, sounds like they're having a bit of problem with the hole they're digging. It's at 5m, but needs to be 8m. There's small canals running through that part of the park which could factor in.

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

Take VR off, retheme it back to air, give the original oasis fountains etc. It should've never been retheme. The space theme can't be pulled off when you go flying past a car park. The whole Galactica retheme hasn't worked for me, and it doesn't fit.

Re: Project 2020

Whatever it is, I'd hope it focuses on airtime over inversions as much as I love wickerman, it's a twister layout, with 2/3 pops. Maybe a hyper RMC :lol
