Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

Regarding Attic's final sections- You would duck through the fire-place, where the children were presumably pulled into the fire by the Demon, and arrive in Hell itself! It could be suggested that you had experienced death itself, hence your arrival in the underworld, and being welcomed to "ete...

Re: Abandoned

The Bear Pit is really fascinating, well worth a look if you get the time and don't mind getting a little muddy. Unfortunately I've only got the one image of it (I know what I'll be doing once the park reopens!)

Re: Alton Towers Fonts

For any of those weirdly craving the font used in some adverts for Project 42, you'll want to be looking for Alien League.

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

It may be Christmas, but if anything that means that we're almost at New Years, which means it's a year with an upcoming Scarefest... :sus: To be perfectly clear- I think that Scarefest is already an incredibly strong event. Throughout the years it's continued to get better and better, and 2019 was ...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

Seeing as we're at the end of the year, and as I haven't already done one, I thought I'd do a bit of a critical review of The Alton Towers Dungeon. A bit on my views on the Dungeons "brand" and this style of attraction first. Anyone who knows me will know that I adore horror and theatre, a...

Random name change- 2020s new ride will instead be called the Duplo Dino Coaster.

Re: Spinball Whizzer - General Discussion

Not quite a must ride, but I love it! It's a "dumb fun" ride that's just really enjoyable, and always has me in stitches. It beats you up and the spinning really adds to the hectic nature of the ride. If it wasn't for the frequently long queues then I'd certainly ride it a lot more. It's a...

Re: Legoland Windsor Resort - General Discussion

Having events like this to help break-up the closed season is a lovely idea and one I'm totally on-board with, but the additional charge for Passholders is very off-putting when you could visit any other time of year for free. If it wasn't up-charge I'd consider popping in as I haven't had a chance ...

Re: SW9

Hmm, I'm a little unsure on this image. Whilst we could be seeing an application soon if SW9 is to open in 2021 (which follows the gaps between Thirteen, Smiler and Wicker), this could just be a tease. I remember at some point in 2014 seeing a similiar tweet from Towers themselves- well over a year ...

It seems we finally have marketing for Rookburgh and Fly! This is making optimistic for some kind of opening in 2020.

Attraction Analysis

Thought I'd try something a bit different to help the winter pass a bit quicker. There's not a huge amount to speculate upon this closed season, so I thought I'd open a discussion about individual design elements that make our favourite attractions so great. It can be anything, from a quick paragrap...

Re: Howl-o-ween

So, Creepy Caves After Dark. That was... something . After the announcement in the summer, it seemed safe to assume that Chessington's attempt at an "extreme" attraction was going to be more akin to a run through of Sub-Species, but what was on offer was far more intense!  Entering, we fou...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

There's definitely a new arrangement for Galactica this year. There was a new Dark Forest track last year, so that's probably what you heard :)

Re: Fright Nights

After sitting the event out last year and seeing as the silly annual pass restrictions have been removed, I decided to return to Fright Nights yesterday. In the past, I've never particularly enjoyed Thorpe's Halloween offering. I've always found their mazes to have bland set-design repetitive scares...

Re: Food & Beverages

Fancied a change yesterday, so decided to eat at Pizza Pasta.  We'd eaten at the one at Alton Towers several times across the season, so we knew how it worked- get shown to a table, then go up to get food and fight your way through the crowds until you're satisfied with the amount you've got, before...

Re: Fright Nights

This is great news to hear. Perhaps they over-estimated demand with the Southern half term only just starting. It'll probably be back to usual Fright Nights chaos this week though! Regardless, it's nice to hear- might actually attend now.

Re: Ideas & Suggestions for 2020

In terms of ERTs- it'd be nice to see both Galactica and Saw on the offerings. It's been a very long time since we've had either, and in that time there's been plenty of new members who won't have had the chance to experience them. Behind the Scenes is already cropping up quite a bit, and that's som...
