Re: Busch Gardens Tampa

From the ECC's First Drop magazine: "The new Gwazi will make some major modifications to the duelling coasters. The first of which is to remove its duelling element. A new steel structure lift hill will give the coaster a 65m (212ft) 91degree first drop. Making it the tallest and steepest RMC h...

Re: SW9

Launch coasters aren't gimmicks in any way. In practical terms, they are perfectly suited to a park like Alton Towers which cannot have a high lift hill in most areas. We need a thrill ride for SW9, it has been nearly 6 years since the last one. An Intamin blitz in Forbidden Valley would do the job ...

Re: Early Ride Time 2019 Predictions

The problem with Forbidden Valley is that since ERT has been cut to only 30 mins now, by the time you walk there it's nearly over.

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach

It seems that demolition of the Bowl-a-Drome (possibly the entire building or just the facade, hard to tell) is well underway.

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

So the original video was just a teaser video for this teaser video :lol

Slightly underwhelmed but hey ho, good so see them producing some more geeky videos for us over the closed season :)

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Don't think it would just be for hotel guests if they are making a big deal out of it on social media. Wasn't there a post on a Merlin Annual Pass social media account a few weeks ago about "two extra months of Wicker Man" that got removed?

Re: Busch Gardens Tampa

Busch Gardens Tampa have filed a construction permit to "partially demolish" some structures and fully demolish certain buildings. It is not known where in the park this is related to although it is largely expected to be related to the previously teased Rocky Mountain conversion of Gwazi ...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Having a great day at Thorpe so far, went to The Swarm: closed, then went to SAW: closed, tried Colossus: 90 minutes, currently queueing for Ghost Train, was supposed to open ridiculously late at 12:00 anyway and it is now "delayed".

I take back everything positive I said yesterday :P

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

I visited Thorpe Park this evening for the first time in over three years and generally I was very impressed. Ride operations were pretty decent, all coasters on full capacity with reasonable diapatch times leading to queues of under 20 minutes for most. Stealth in particular was getting trains out ...

Re: The Swarm

Heard some people say it will not reopen until 2019. Very dissapointing if true, my first visit to Thorpe Park in 3 years is just over a week away. We can only speculate as to what is wrong, but it surely doesn't help that Merlin doesn't give the budget for spare parts to be ordered in advance and s...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

I have seen one photo on someone's personal Facebook of two Galactica Airways hostesses, as well as comments from people who've spotted some Ghost Pirates, so they do exist. I can only assume that having them as "Scaremosphere" rather than actual scare zones gives them greater flexibility...

Re: Scarefest - General Discussion

Does any one know what the Scaremosphere things were then? :-k Nothing happened. Literally nothing. Not sure how they can advertise something that doesn't exist. I searched round Mutiny Bay, The Towers and Galactica in the evening and to say I was dissapointed is an understatement. Scarefest as a w...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

On a positive note, the park is being operated fairly well today, only ride not on full capacity is Galactica which has an issue with one of its trains. Hopefully it's back on 3 trains & 2 stations by next weekend!

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

My 8th visit of the season and it's the 8th time that Wicker Man has failed to open for ERT.

What's the point of having a ride on ERT if you can't get it open?
