Love the name, theme, artwork basically I love everything. And I haven't gone into this one thinking we're getting a high thrill coaster like I did with 13. My initial reaction of 13 was that it was terrible but only later did I begin to appreciate it for what it is. Now I really enjoy it. That was ...
Looking like Katanga Canyon is finally getting a big coaster and a facelift then. Can't see a Wickerman theme fitting in anywhere better or anywhere else for that matter on park. An African / tribal wickerman theme could work really well and not something I envisaged they'd go for. Very excited now.
It looks stunning. Really hope it goes ahead but this project originally had a 2018 opening date so I still have my doubts. It would be great to have another top class park in the country though and even better that it would make Merlin up their game too massively. With the awful weather we get, it ...
To be fair I don't think SW8 is supposed to be a high thrill coaster. It's not looking like a 1.4m ride to me but more aimed at the whole family 7+ yrs which I think is a good thing. Theres plenty of 1.4m coasters at AT already.
Me and the wife have just booked some time off for a visit next year in April. We're taking our little lad for his 3rd bday. It will be my first visit to the park since 2002. A long old time. With it being the 25th anniversary next year, as most will know they have spruced up most of the major attra...
Great day today at the park. Always a brilliant day to go on a monday, especially when the kids are all back in school. Only kids there were the Muslim ones celebrating Eid. Anyway.....must have got 40 rides (including re-rides) in. Valhalla I stayed on 3 times without getting off as literally nobod...
Oblivion doesn't need any changes to the layout. It's never going to happen anyway but for argument sake, let's say an immelman was added or some other kind of Inversion. Would it really enhance the ride experience that much? Would it be worth the hassle? Not one bit. All they need to do (if anythin...
It will be a hideous looking ride if they just plonk loads of wooden walls and tunnels on the ride and don't attempt to theme them with fascades to emerse them into the rides's theme. Balder at Lisberg is apparently a great coaster but boy does it look ugly. I'd like to think that AT will go a few s...
Will this be the first launched woodie in Europe? I assume it's going to be launched as a 10m high lift hill doesn't suggest it will be enough otherwise.
I absolutely the fact that Alton and Pleasure Beach will be head to head again! I know what one I think will win easily, but it's great that we are getting two strong coasters for 2018 after being deprived for so long! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk Which one do you think "will win easil...
Blackpool badly in need of a major Steel coaster. Not had a "new" one since 1994 (Pepsi max Big One as it was then) as Infusion was a relocation from Southport. If it's a Mack Mega Coaster which it looks increasigly likely it will be, it will be fantastic. They don't really make shoddy rid...
I wonder how much money they will save this season with all those rides being out of action. Certainly does make you wonder if it was necessary in order to go ahead with SW8. I read somewhere that the calculated losses to the park from the Smiler incident were 8 figures which is crazy money. They ob...
If they go down the water ride route, the Flying Dutchman attraction (Vliegende Hollander) at Efteling would be just about as perfect as it gets to fill that huge space left by the Flume. It's enough of a coaster to market to public for thrills but not too fast and also has the dark ride and water f...
Wouldn't surprise me in slightest if they're looking at the next phase of TL already and the wheels are already in motion. I didn't see anything on Saturday regarding this but it's a safe presumption that they would want to continue to capitalize on the huge success it's been. Selfishly I would pref...
Be an awful shame if that's true then. I'd heard rumors too but not seen anything official. In saying that.....DMP have just had their best ever year financially (2015) so hopefully they can find some money to get it working this season. They obviously wont just give up on it as It's a brilliant fam...
I thought Pirate Adventure was still 'under refurbishment'.
Yeah it still is I believe. Their website says they "hope to have it back running as soon as possible" though, so fingers crossed for sometime this season.
Happy new season guys! I thought I'd start a new topic for the Park whilst it's a new year and all. It's a park I personally love. My First theme park visit of any sort the year is coming on opening day at DMP this Saturday. Most of the park will be shut (thrill rides) but I have a near two year old...
