Re: SW8

I'll miss it terribly! Long before there was a Nemesis pit (or Forbidden/Thunder Valley for that matter) a Katanga Canyon or even a rapids, there was this Flume sight. It has a certain Towers majesty about it with its lights, final drop and building structures and I'll miss it terribly. I'm very ann...

Re: SW8

If I'm being honest Theme Park Crafter, I'm not sure if this is a game of Chinese Whispers not gonna lie! So I am really going to take this as a pinch of salt, but I do like the sound of fire... But, nethertheless I'm really hoping that SW8 isn't going to be TH13TEEN v2.0. I mean if the fire bit is...

Re: Safari Lodges Development

It's a no brainer really. The real profit is made in the accommodation. With a lack of space and decent offering at Thorpe and Chessington being so close to rail connections into central London for the London midways, Chessington has turned into a bit of a south East hub. Dont get your hopes up for ...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

I don't think it would be cost effective to remove it period, even if it did go to another park. It would cost a fortune to relocate and at some point the park would have to concede that they just don't have enough attractions left to justify operating such a resort. That means costly future replace...

Re: The 'How busy will it be?' Topic

I'm going on 23rd and 24th and, from previous years, I'll expect no more than 30 min queue for anything on the Monday in the post crash period

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

Dark Forest is crying out for a Flat more than anywhere in park. It was strange yesterday with both Rita and Thirteen down, the area was just some music and an arcade. A shadow it's former days as the flat rich Festival Park. Even moving Twirling Toadstool with its outrageously overkill height restr...

Re: Rides you want to see leave the park.

I know gallopers carousel may be pointless to most of you, but I have a 2 year old daughter that loves it! It may be the same as all others and may be in the wrong location (debatable). But it's universal, simple, takes up a small footprint, cheap to maintain and takes up only 1 ride op. I'm open to...

Re: X-Sector refurbishment?

I think X-sell could easily reopen without the need for extra staffing. Just combine the till with the photo kiosk and the 2 people there could man both with no extra payroll costs. I think it should be prioritised rather than all out refitting the area. Hydrator needs to reopen and the whole area a...

Re: Your Alton Towers Trip Order

1. Oblivion Ert a few times. 2. Enterprise before 9:30. 3. Spinball when Ert opens at 9:30 as it's likely to have Consistent queues for the rest of the day. 4. Walk across to Forbidden Valley, by which time 10:00 will be approaching. Get on one of the first crafts out on Galactica before the GP are ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

I believe you hear some tingling (xylophone type noise), a spot light turns on you and a female voice remarks as to how good you look. Not sure why it's still broken after such a long time

Re: If You could bring back one past ride?

I'll miss Ripsaw actually as when it and Blade where installed in FV it gave the area the strong theme and landscape that we still have today. It was the last part of the visual transformation from Thunder Valley, as it still was to the right of Thunder Looper, to the new Forbidden Valley on the sid...

Re: Ride Closures/Removals in 2016

Pretty conclusive then. I am I the only one who actually liked that ride? Or is it just nostalgia of it all being part of the early days of FV and Nemesis

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Looking at that interview, it looks like she genuinely wants to ride to remain closed for longer and knows that she has taken nicks comments out of context. To be fair, both her and Varney have both the same account of events by the looks of it, so neither and being untruthful. But it appears she ha...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

Perfectly acceptable reason for.the ride running - Gerstlauer wanting to test a ride that they engineered and that has since crashed. It may be reopening and the signs are looking positive but I don't think this is a precursor to its reopening. The additional fitment of equipment is more intriguing ...
