Re: Galactica - General Discussion

But, very few people are going to know what SG-1 is, so I promise not to tell Merlin, if you don't ;)

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

the other option of course is that we theme it for StarGate SG-1, is already got a StarGate, and I would love to see a SG-1 ride.

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I'm not a big fan of the VR, but there is nothing wrong with the Galatica branding, and you can use the station more, and maybe some design around the track, to still sell the space element of the theme.

Re: The Future of Spinball Whizzer (Cbeebies Land Expansion?)

I would like see Spinball sold to another UK Theme Park, somewhere like Paultons could benefit with a family thrill coaster and they could give it a theme as well. New paint, new theme, all new makeover to fit the image. Have the cars like dinosaur eggs or something. It's not going to Paultons. Fir...

Re: The Future of Spinball Whizzer (Cbeebies Land Expansion?)

I guess if you dont want to just give that land to Cbeebies completely, then a Lego Driving School, (along with other Lego stuff, maybe even a mini Lego model of the park, and a Lego shop) might be a way to go. Certaintly if it prevents Lego being more present in the park then its a good idea. That ...

Re: The Future of Spinball Whizzer (Cbeebies Land Expansion?)

Why would you want litlte mini LegoLand? The good thing CBeebies Land has going for it right now is the CBeebies branding. Adding Lego into that only cheapens it.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

There is no question that if there was ever to be a prople hotel a RR should be a part of that.

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Ok so, the fact you can't take the ride anymore, seems to be the problem for you, I suggest not hating on something that others like, but yourself can not take. They do hold you at the second lift a little too long, certainly now some of the themeing at that point has been lost. Talking of the themi...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

I would suspect just the unique selling point for Alton and money, limit the Roller Coaster Restaurant appearing elsewhere. Of course it being unique to Alton Towers (at least in the UK) is a sales point, but whilst true it opened in 2016, I dont think its going to harm the one at AT, for a second ...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

It's not fair on the ride, but the soundtrack makes me think of the Jared Leto Joker. As I said that is not a fair judgement on the ride, as the ride came first. I am unsure if its a good sign or not, that after a days worth of queing, the sound track of the ride, prevents you from sleeping the next...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

The Smiler is easily my favourite rollercoaster at Alton Towers, and probaly the whole of the UK as well. Im not technail enough to change the mind of anyone here, but to simply state that there is nothing good about it, is a sign of a closed mind.

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

Is there anythig preventing a Rollercoaster Resturant coming to Thorpe Park? it does not need to be exculsive to Alton Towers, and keeping it within the Merlin group is fine. Also I could see it gettting a bit mroe trade out of normal park times, being as TP is much more accesable than Alton Towers.

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I agree with Justin, when I went the queue was for the VR seats, and whilst im not Coaster purist, I would say in this example the non VR ride is better. Allowing anyone who wants to, to ride with VR much earlier in the queue, even if its means putting them down the fastrack, would help, the two day...

Could you be any more British right now? On a rollercoaster, and thinking about the location of a future house purchase.

I don't think the human body would have the same appeal as a space theme.

Personally, I would have liked to see it turned to a Phalanx base where civilians join the cause to defeat the Nemesis monster using jet packs.

That works too.

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I have been wondering if the Galactica theme is just a bit lazy, space travel just feels a bit easy to me, what if you did something along the lines of a trip around the human body, I guess easier to do space if you have to build it around a ride you already have, than to build both track and VR vid...

Re: Inside Alton Towers - General Discussion

Talking of the GP, I felt that "It's better than colouring in!" may have been damming Wicker Man with faint praise. A £16 million anything, had better be better than colouring in.

Re: Inside Alton Towers - General Discussion

If I’m honest, I was really disappointed with this documentary. I was expecting something similar to The Magic Factory but it felt nothing like it. It could have been so much more, it could have shown the day to day operation of the rides, especially The Smiler, to show the GP what goes into operat...

Re: Inside Alton Towers - General Discussion

I think all things considered the documentary has shown the Resort in a positive light. It was to be expected that it would be aimed at the GP, after all, in order for this kind of show to get comissioned it would need to have a wide appeal. Yes, there were a few omissions - the most obvious one be...
