Re: Stealth

I did a roll back maybe 7/8 years ago (not too sure), it was certainly frightening as it happened but the process of waiting in the brake run was so annoying. At least we got to ride it again right away when they let an empty carriage run around.

Re: I'm a Celebrity! Maze

I'm not hurt over its contract ending tbh, it was interesting and a fun novelty but any more than 1 run and you're done. I don't see much of a future for that area unless they use it as a Fright Nights space again. Maybe they could clear it and the Fungle Safari land and get a nice ride/coaster in t...

Re: Colossus

Colossus won't go unless someone suffers a serious injury, fasttrack sales for it stop and nobody rides it, or it gets to the point it can't run

Re: Rumba Rapids

I personally feel it looks real nice with the new appearance. Most people I know hated how crusty it was, the random berry people made no sense and how out of place the colour scheme was (especially with the Ribena affiliation gone). I look forward to maybe an extension of the work in the next close...

Re: Saw - The Ride

The lighting on the inside always varies, like last year on one visit the lighting was exactly as you described for your recent visit. Thorpe aren't exactly the most consistent park for theming and props

Re: Slammer

I was under the impression they pumped a good bit of money into its maintenance last year? They'll let it run into the ground before they close it. I mean look at how bad Samurai got? We can only wait and see

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

Well they're still taking individual cases into account. We were also personally offered some priority/fastrack passes as compensation for my friend having come from Scotland. I think they were prepared to compensate for other issues such as hotel and travel for individual cases like I imagine they ...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - New for 2016

An attendant at guest services (a DBGT actor left idle for the day) was trying to keep the line calm and said they don't expect the ride to open until at least Thursday. It's a recurring fault and they're keeping it closed to fix it.

Re: Thorpe Park - General Discussion

Abysmal day at the park. Stealth obviously closed, DBGT closed, Colossus was closed for the latter half of the day, Nemesis Inferno ran for about 1 hour, SAW closed towards the end of the day and so did The Swarm (on a smaller scale Flying Fish was also closed all day). Free return tickets have been...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - New for 2016

There was an on ride photo on the table today in the GT shop, probably not a spoiler but if anyone want to see it, there you go! http://i.imgur.com/jKQKRyp.jpg who's that man? Is he meant to be part of it or do you think he was just there when they tested it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Liam.W's NL2 creations!

Looks very big, i'd think for a Gerst infinity you may want to keep it in a confined space - back and forth, quite packed, like the Smiler. But maybe less inversions and more airtime elements?

Re: Kolmården Wildlife Park

This looks so damn fast and impressive, must pull some big Gs. Putting RMC on the global coaster map in a big way. I don't think I'll ever get to go on it but it's beautiful enough to watch.

The Swarm

Back row, right, outside seat, some major G-forces on the zero-G roll and throughout.
Front row, right or left, outside seat for an amazing build up, great views at the top, amazing headchoppers (especially on left) and building tension at the dive loop drop.

Re: The 'How busy will it be?' Topic

Due to it's abysmal throughput I'd go for Colossus first, and then to Saw if it's open. I'd say never head to Stealth or Swarm at the start of the day. Stealth is usually closed in the early morning and Swarm usually has good queues all day. Nemesis Inferno for me always seems to get busy around mid...

Re: SW8

This looks, in all honesty, a perfect fit for the park. Alton Towers is drastically focusing on families and they need this bridge between tame and wild rides to replace Spinball Whizzer (just realised the initials are SW and I almost put that lol). Y'all are gonna love it when it's open, I know it ...

Re: Nemesis Inferno

On my visit 26/05 I noticed how bad Ninferno looks now. Its age has really come through and the track looks very brown, worn and unloved. I'm surprised it doesn't get as much mention as Colossus' paint.

I noticed X was closed on 26/05, was strangely upsetting, hopefully it'll be back when I next go

Re: If you owned Thorpe Park, what would you do with it?

I can't see Colossus dying at 20 years old, hopefully it'll get some Nemesis-scale repaint and care when it comes to it (they're refurbing Loggers Leap so I can imagine they'd keep Colossus longer). I'll look into doing this tomorrow on my lunch break [emoji851]

Re: SW8

One thing I'm wondering is how much this'll cost, I have no idea what a likely cost of a GCI woddie of this size would be. Without a doubt this will be far from their biggest investment. But with the lack of a gimmick or new innovation they can put their money on quality theming? This could be a gre...
